Kuka says its ‘sensitive robot’ increases efficiency in automotive final assembly

June 2, 2020 by David Edwards

Industrial robot maker Kuka says its “sensitive robot” is helping to increase efficiency at the final stages of assembly in the automotive manufacturing sector.

The company says car manufacturers are always looking for solutions to increase the efficiency of assembly on the assembly line.

Innovative automation solutions should increase the degree of automation, says Kuka, and human and robot increasingly share the workplace along the assembly line. [Read more…] about Kuka says its ‘sensitive robot’ increases efficiency in automotive final assembly

The first fast food robot in the world. Probably

February 11, 2020 by David Edwards

Kuka has unveiled what it describes as “the first fast food robot in the world”, adding the word “probably”.

First pioneered by Carlsberg, which used to call its beverage “probably the best lager in the world”, it’s the sort of waffle much favoured by journalists.

Kuka has “probably” noticed that there have been stories about robots being used in fast food operations as well as bars, so it “probably” decided that it’s best not to be too emphatic about its sort of half-claim to be the first. [Read more…] about The first fast food robot in the world. Probably

Kuka develops mobile robot for semiconductor production

August 14, 2019 by Sam Francis

Kuka has developed a mobile robot for semiconductor production. The system integrates a robotic arm with an autonomous wheeled platform.

Kuka says it developed the system because the production of semiconductors is particularly complex.

Until now there was no mobile, automated semiconductor production system that enabled component transfer from one step to the next. That has now changed with the Kuka wafer handling solution. [Read more…] about Kuka develops mobile robot for semiconductor production
