How Plasma Polishing is Revolutionizing the Future of Surface Finishing

September 5, 2024 by Mark Allinson

Surface finishing is a crucial process in many industries, from medical to automotive, aimed at improving the functionality and aesthetics of a material’s surface.

Traditional methods like grinding and polishing have their limitations, especially when it comes to treating surfaces with high precision and without deformation.

Plasma polishing, an innovative technique, offers a solution to these challenges, delivering not only more precise results but also being more environmentally friendly. In this article, we explain how plasma polishing is revolutionizing the future of surface finishing.

How Fabrication Shops Shape Our Infrastructure

April 29, 2024 by David Edwards

Beneath the gleaming skylines and bustling cityscapes, an intricate network of infrastructure forms the backbone of modern society.

From the roads we traverse to the buildings that shelter us, this crucial foundation enables the seamless functioning of our daily lives.

However, the unsung heroes contributing to this vast tapestry are often overlooked – the fabrication shops whose handiwork shapes the very infrastructure we rely upon. [Read more…] about How Fabrication Shops Shape Our Infrastructure

What is a Plasma Cutter? And Why Your Business May Need One

January 12, 2024 by Mark Allinson

A plasma cutter is a tool that uses a directed stream of hot plasma to cut through various types of conductive metals like steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and more.

Plasma cutters work by creating an electrical arc between a negatively charged electrode in the tip of the torch and the positively charged workpiece. This arc ionizes gas passing through it, creating a channel of superhot plasma that can melt and cut through metal.

Plasma cutters provide extremely clean, fast, and accurate cuts for metal fabrication and other industrial applications. Unlike abrasive cutting tools like grinders or saws, plasma cutters produce smooth edges that often require little post-processing or cleanup. [Read more…] about What is a Plasma Cutter? Flame Cutting, Plasma Cutting, and Waterjet Cutting – Differences

January 6, 2022 by Mark Allinson

There are many options for metal cutting when you need it cut to size. Not all processes will work for every job and every type of metal.

You may choose to use flame cutting or plasma cutting for your project. However, it is important that you understand the differences between these cutting methods. [Read more…] about Flame Cutting, Plasma Cutting, and Waterjet Cutting – Differences

Robotic versus manual plasma cutting

September 13, 2020 by Liv

Plasma cutters are very powerful machines that have the ability to cut through metal. Some of them are powerful enough to go through very thick pieces. In fact, they can go through them like a knife through butter.

Plasma cutters are an essential piece of equipment for some welders. In fact, it does the complete opposite of a welding machine. Instead of fusing pieces of metal together, a plasma cutter is used to tear it apart.

During some point of work, it is necessary to cut through some pieces that you don’t need or when you are trying to shape something together. [Read more…] about Robotic versus manual plasma cutting
