Clevon celebrates delivery of ‘nearly 1,500 DHL Express packages’

Clevon, an autonomous delivery innovator, says it has delivered almost 1,500 packages for DHL Express Estonia. The two companies began their partnership in the summer of 2022 and are moving towards expanding their collaboration.

The pilot project has gradually grown into an everyday service, and now Clevon’s Autonomous Robot Carrier (ARC) is a part of DHL Express Estonia’s vehicle fleet.

In the project’s first stage, the carrier transported DHL Express internal packages between three offices in the Capital of Estonia, Tallinn. Epson Robots expands robot range and programming software

Epson Robots has expanded its VT6L-Series lineup with the VT6L-DC All-in-One 6-Axis Robot and increased the functionality of its “no-code, easy-to-use” Epson RC+ Express programming software.

A DC-powered version of the VT6L, the new VT6L-DC All-in-One 6-Axis robot delivers next-level technology and is ideal for mobile solutions, says Epson.

Now, an industrial-grade, 6-axis robot can be mounted to an AMR (autonomous mobile robot) for warehousing applications or on a mobile platform to easily transport between workstations. DHL begins trial runs of Cleveron’s autonomous delivery vehicle

DHL Express has begun testing an autonomous delivery vehicle built by Estonian company Cleveron. The trials will take place in Tallin, Estonia, and use the Clevon 1 electric delivery robot, which has a 100 km range.

This is the second strategic cooperation where DHL, one of the world’s leading logistics companies, will pilot Cleveron Mobility’s unmanned robot couriers to test their use in last-mile delivery operations.

DHL to build new €100 million facility at Munich Airport

DHL Express Germany has marked the official start of construction for its new, €104 million Munich Airport facility with a groundbreaking ceremony.

The building, which is being built on parking lots P 80 and P 80 West, will boast a gross floor area of over 11,000 square meters. This will make the facility almost seven times larger than the warehouse DHL Express currently rents at Munich Airport’s cargo center.

Nippon Express launches eco-friendly delivery service in Venice using hydrogen-powered boats

Nippon Express Italia has launched an eco-friendly delivery service in Venice, Italy that uses hydrogen-powered boats.

The European Union has set a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55 percent from 1990 levels no later than 2030, and companies operating within the EU are accelerating their de-carbonization efforts.

To realize its long-term vision of becoming a “logistics company with a strong presence in the global market”, the Nippon Express Group has made addressing climate change one of its material issues and is working to reduce CO2 emissions in its operations as well as to create products and services that help its customers reduce their own CO2 emissions. Kodiak Robotics expands autonomous freight service to Florida with USPS partner

Kodiak Robotics, a self-driving trucking company, has expanded its autonomous freight service to Florida with 10 Roads Express, a provider of time sensitive surface transportation for the US Postal Service.

To launch this partnership, Kodiak completed a round trip consisting of four commercial deliveries, including a coast-to-coast commercial run.

A Kodiak autonomous truck carried 10 Roads Express freight nearly 5,600 miles from San Antonio, Texas; to the San Francisco Bay Area; to Jacksonville, Florida; and back to San Antonio. Nippon Express opens ‘cutting-edge, showroom-style’ logistics facility

Nippon Express has completed the construction of its what it describes as a “cutting-edge, showroom-style logistics facility”.

NEX-Auto Logistics Facility (NEX-ALFA) is located within a warehouse estate in Tokyo’s Koto Ward, andfeatures artificial intelligence and internet of things technologies.

Nippon Express says declining birthrates and a shrinking population have resulted in serious labor shortages in recent years for Japan’s logistics industry, which has been pursuing “work style reform” as advocated by the government. Nippon Express to construct new Shanghai warehouse

Nippon Express Global has begun construction on a new warehouse in Shanghai Qingpu Industrial Park.

Situated in the western part of Shanghai, Qingpu Industrial Park was opened in 1995 as an industrial park receiving key municipal-level industrial support, and its location within 50 minutes of central Shanghai has attracted electronics, biotech, and hi-tech companies.

The industrial park is located adjacent to a highway linking Shanghai with cities across Jiangsu Province, which is now developing into a major production area, and growing attention on this strategic logistics location is driving warehouse demand higher.

DHL launches last-mile drone delivery service in China

DHL Express has partnered with autonomous aerial vehicle company EHang to jointly launch a fully automated and intelligent smart drone delivery solution to tackle the last-mile delivery challenges in the urban areas of China.

The launch ceremony was held today at the EHang Command and Control Center in Guangzhou, with the attendance of senior executives from both companies.

This cutting-edge solution takes its inaugural flight for a DHL customer, making DHL the first international express company to provide such a service in China.
