US startup Antioch raises $4.25 million to build simulation infrastructure to the robotics industry

December 4, 2025 by David Edwards

A team of Stanford alumni led by former Tesla Autopilot engineer Harry Mellsop, former Deep Grey Research head of product Alex Langshur, former Google Deepmind engineer Colton Swingle, and former Meta Reality Labs researcher Collin Schlager, has raised $4.25 million to democratise access to advanced robotics development.

The pre-seed round was led by A*, with support from Abstract Ventures, MaC Venture Capital, Box Group, as well as angels Adrian Macneil, the CEO of AI robotics company, Foxglove, Shyam Sankar, the CTO of Palantir, and NZ investment firm Icehouse Ventures.

Founded in early 2025 and headquartered in New York, Antioch is solving one of autonomy’s hardest problems: safely validating AI-driven systems that operate in the physical world. [Read more…] about US startup Antioch raises $4.25 million to build simulation infrastructure to the robotics industry

Nvidia invests $2 billion in Synopsys as the companies expand partnership to ‘revolutionize engineering and design across industries’

December 1, 2025 by David Edwards

Nvidia and Synopsys have agreed a “major expansion” of their long-running technical collaboration, outlining a multiyear partnership that aims to reshape engineering workflows across semiconductor, aerospace, automotive and industrial sectors.

The agreement combines Nvidia’s accelerated computing stack with Synopsys’ engineering and simulation software to address the mounting complexity facing R&D teams.

As part of the deal, Nvidia has invested $2 billion in Synopsys common stock at a purchase price of $414.79 per share. And because Synopsys acquired Ansys for approximately $35 billion earlier this year, Nvidia will probably be a part owner of the engineering design application. Nvidia says its new AI physics platform enables engineers to work ‘500 times faster’ in aerospace and automotive

November 24, 2025 by David Edwards

Nvidia says leading aerospace and automotive companies are accelerating complex engineering tasks by as much as 500x using its new DoMINO NIM microservice, part of the Nvidia PhysicsNeMo AI physics framework.

According to the company, the combination of GPU-accelerated computing, AI-powered physics modelling and interactive digital twins is transforming how enterprises run simulations for aircraft, vehicles and heavy machinery.

The platform enables “near real-time simulation” of physical systems, significantly compressing design cycles and allowing engineers to explore larger design spaces with far greater accuracy. Interview with Schneider Electric’s digital leader Peter Weckesser: ‘AI is the brain’

November 7, 2025 by David Edwards

Schneider Electric is best known as a global leader in power systems and energy management – the company that keeps the world’s infrastructure running.

Less visible, but increasingly vital to its strategy, is a growing digital and software-driven business focused on automation, IoT, and AI. At the centre of that transformation is Peter Weckesser, Schneider Electric’s chief digital officer.

Weckesser doesn’t see technologies such as AI, IoT, and digital twins as disruptive forces, but as “strategic enablers of resilience, efficiency, and competitive growth”. [Read more…] about Interview with Schneider Electric’s digital leader Peter Weckesser: ‘AI is the brain’

Middle East sets the pace for autonomous operations in energy sector

November 5, 2025 by Sam Francis

Schneider Electric, an energy technology company, has unveiled new research revealing that nearly 80 percent of Middle East energy sector leaders report advanced operational readiness, highlighting the region’s strong ambition toward autonomous operations.

The Middle East findings of Schneider Electric’s Autonomous Maturity research indicates a shift in autonomous readiness within the region’s energy sector, with many organizations claiming to operate at Level 4 of the ARC Autonomous Operations Maturity Model.

This level reflects selective autonomy, systems functioning independently in specific scenarios with limited human intervention. [Read more…] about Middle East sets the pace for autonomous operations in energy sector
