Monarch Tractor showcases ‘world’s first fully electric, driver-optional tractor’

Monarch Tractor has been showcasing what it says is “the world’s first fully electric, driver-optional tractor” and has been selected for 2022 CES Innovation Award in the process.

The annual CES competition honors outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products.

Monarch says it has been named a CES 2022 Innovation Awards Honoree and was honored in the Robotics category for its flagship MK-V tractor, which it says is “the first to deliver a convergence of electrification, automation and data analysis that empowers sustainable farming, increases efficiency and safety, and maximizes profitability for farmers”. Pudu Robotics showcases its service robots at CES

Pudu Robotics, provider of commercial service robots, has wrapped up what it describes as “a highly successful showcase” at CES, which took place earlier this month.

In addition to exhibiting its flagship commercial service robots in the global arena, Pudu Robotics used the event to reaffirm its increased focus on IoT technology and layout its product roadmap based on a “multi-functional, multi-scenario” strategy.

Polimove wins autonomous car race at CES

The Indy Autonomous Challenge (IAC) team PoliMOVE has won the Autonomous Challenge @ CES, making history as the first head-to-head autonomous racecar competition champion.

PoliMOVE comprises team members from Politecnico di Milano, Italy, and the University of Alabama, in the US.

PoliMOVE competed at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in a field of five teams from five countries representing seven universities to win the $150,000 grand prize. Abu Dhabi team in ‘pole position’ at CES autonomous racing challenge

Abu Dhabi’s Technology Innovation Institute (TII) says it is in “pole position” at the first-ever CES autonomous racing challenge, although it’s not clear whether that means its car is literally in pole position on the grid or that the team is simply well prepared and positioned overall.

Abu Dhabi says its preparations are in full swing to mark its first participation as Team TII EuroRacing in the upcoming Autonomous Challenge @ CES 2022.

Leica Geosystems nominated for robotics award at CES

Leica Geosystems, a provider of measurement technology, has been named a CES 2022 Innovation Awards Honoree for the Leica BLK ARC, a four-legged canine type of robot.

This year’s CES Innovation Awards program received a record high number of over 1,800 submissions. The announcement was made ahead of CES 2022, the world’s most influential technology event, happening January 5-8 in Las Vegas, Nevada and digitally.

The Leica BLK ARC is an autonomous laser scanning module for robotics applications. It provides a safe and autonomous way to perform reality capture of images and 3D data of areas that are difficult or dangerous for humans to reach. Evocargo to exhibit autonomous logistics vehicle technology at CES

Evocargo will showcase its cutting-edge services in cargo transportation based on their own electric unmanned vehicle in the Vehicle Tech category at the Consumer Electronics Show 2022, being held in Las Vegas from January 5-8.

Established in 2019, Evocargo will exhibit its Smart Logistic service based on unmanned all-electric platforms. Evocargo’s EVO.1 vehicle (3.5 tons full weight) will be displayed, featuring a payload capacity of 1.5 tons, power reserve of 155 miles and operating time of 20 hours with 40-minute charging time.

Indy Autonomous Challenge to host first autonomous racecar competition at CES

Indy Autonomous Challenge is preparing to make history at CES 2022 by hosting the first autonomous racecar competition at the event.

Energy Systems Network (ESN), principal organizer of the Indy Autonomous Challenge (IAC), revealed details of the upcoming IAC events at CES 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada, January 3-8, 2022.

Making history as the first high-speed, head-to-head autonomous racecar competition, 19 universities from eight countries will form nine race teams and will seek to compete in the Autonomous Challenge @ CES. AImotive and Sony partner to develop ADAS capability for Vision-S prototype

AImotive, the most highly-funded automated driving technology company in Europe, is working with Sony to develop its automated driving software stack with Sony’s Vision-S Prototype (main picture and below).

According to Sony, the Vision-S – announced at CES 2020 – is conceived to re-imagine mobility as we know it, by integrating the advanced ADAS and automated driving systems with the latest electric vehicle technology and an innovative entertainment system.

Visteon, an automotive dashboard electronics technology company, has been showcasing its latest innovations at CES 2020.

The company says the showcase includes a range of technology solutions “designed to enhance safety and the driving experience by enabling the transformation of cockpits to all-digital environments”.

Visteon displayed cockpit electronics technology platforms in four core areas:

  • Driver Information: Industry-leading digital clusters and multi-display modules
  • SmartCore: Industry-first cockpit domain controllers
  • DriveCore: Enhanced safety domain controllers for Level 2-plus automated driving
  • Infotainment: Scalable Android-based infotainment solutions

Although electric motors have been around since the first half of the 19th century, their function has largely remained unchanged. By converting electricity to mechanical energy they act as the muscles that power the world’s machines and devices and give them the ability to spin and move.
