Indy Autonomous Challenge to host first autonomous racecar competition at CES

Indy Autonomous Challenge is preparing to make history at CES 2022 by hosting the first autonomous racecar competition at the event.

Energy Systems Network (ESN), principal organizer of the Indy Autonomous Challenge (IAC), revealed details of the upcoming IAC events at CES 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada, January 3-8, 2022.

Making history as the first high-speed, head-to-head autonomous racecar competition, 19 universities from eight countries will form nine race teams and will seek to compete in the Autonomous Challenge @ CES. Robotic Research raises $228 million in Series A funding round

Robotic Research, a developer of autonomous mobility and robotics solutions, has raised $228 million in its Series A funding round – the first outside capital the company has raised.

This funding will drive further innovation and expansion of Robotic Research’s commercial division, RR.AI, which is focused on delivering comprehensive autonomous driving solutions for commercial truck, bus, drayage and logistics vehicles.

Daimler Trucks and Torc Robotics partner with Luminar to develop autonomous trucks

Luminar Technologies, an autonomous vehicle sensor and software company, and Daimler Trucks have agreed a strategic partnership to enable highly automated – or autonomous – trucking, starting on highways.

Experts at Daimler Trucks, its US subsidiary, Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) and Torc Robotics, part of Daimler Trucks’ Autonomous Technology Group, with the experts at Luminar are collaboratively pursuing a common goal of bringing series-produced highly automated trucks (SAE Level 4) to roads globally.

The teams will work closely together in order to enhance lidar sensing, perception, and system-level performance for Daimler trucks moving at highway speeds.
