Indian government to replace sewage workers with robots by 2020

September 11, 2019 by Mai Tao

An Indian company called GenRobotics has developed a range of robots to undertake work down manholes and in sewage environments, and has been receiving orders from a number of states in its home country as well as many places abroad.

GenRobotics was launched in relatively quiet circumstances in 2015, but then, last year, the prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, was in attendance at the launch of the company’s second-generation robots.

Malaysia and the UAE are among the outside nations from which orders have been received for GenRobotics machines, and they join Indian states such as Tamil Nadu, in the south, and Haryana, in the north of the massive country of more than 1 billion people. AT&T and Badger Technologies are working together to accelerate retail automation using autonomous robots with 5G wireless networking capabilities.

Badger Technologies’ robots empower retailers to improve operational efficiencies and customer experiences by identifying out-of-stock, mispriced or misplaced inventory as well as store hazards.

These advanced mobile data collection systems can fill major gaps in the collection and sharing of vital in-store data and images, but also can tax a store’s existing Wi-Fi network. [Read more…] about AT&T working with Badger Technologies to provide 5G networking for retail robots

Scaled Robotics integrates mobile robot into construction site

September 3, 2019 by David Edwards

Scaled Robotics has integrated a mobile robot called “Husky”, built by Clearpath Robotics, into a construction site’s activities

A construction site is an extremely busy, fast-paced, and interconnected environment. With specific building instructions and deadlines to meet, having a clear overview of the project is paramount.

Barcelona-based Scaled Robotics see the need to provide a beneficial service that has previously not existed in the construction industry.

Since it is virtually impossible to keep track of the hundreds of thousands of variable elements on a construction site, progress tracking was typically accomplished with very sparse spot checks. [Read more…] about Scaled Robotics integrates mobile robot into construction site
