Tesollo unveils ‘high-performance’ humanoid robot hand

Tesollo, a South Korea-based specialist in robotic grippers, has launched its latest innovation, the Delto Gripper-5 Finger (DG-5F), further solidifying its competitive edge in the robotics market.

Set to go on sale in March, the DG-5F has already garnered significant attention at major exhibitions, including RoboWorld 2024, Korea’s largest robotics expo, and CES 2025, held this past January in the United States.

UVeye secures $191 million extra funding from investors including Toyota

UVeye, a developer of AI-driven vehicle inspection technology, has raised $191 million in additional funding, bringing total capital raised to date to $380.5 million.

This latest infusion, combining equity and debt, will fuel UVeye’s efforts to meet surging global demand for its innovative systems and solidify its position as the market leader in the industry as the company nears a million vehicles scanned every month.

The round was led by Woven Capital with participation from UMC Capital and MyBerg along with existing investors W.R. Berkley, Menora Mivtachim, and More Investment House for $41 million in equity financing; Trinity Capital structured the $150 million debt facility. Fusion Capital Partners acquires Tavoron

Fusion Capital Partners, a lower middle-market private equity firm focused on engineered products and essential services businesses for industrial and commercial markets, has acquired Tavoron, a producer and supplier of industrial automation components, systems and services. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Tavoron, comprised of multiple operating companies across the US and Canada, specializes in innovative electrical and air automation components, robotic systems and compressed air technologies.

Covvi unveils ‘futuristic’ robotic hand that ‘pushes new technological boundaries’

Prosthetics development company Covvi has revealed a futuristic, robotic hand that the company says “pushes new technological boundaries”.

The launch looks to bring the “ground-breaking” Covvi Hand, which the company describes as “a state-of-the-art multi-articulated hand able to complete complex tasks”, to the robotics sector.

Since 2017, Covvi’s dedicated team of engineers and developers, have created an advanced prosthetic hand with the ability to form intricate grips mimicking those made by the human form. The Covvi Hand continues to be used by people with limb loss and limb differences around the world, and is currently supporting the rehabilitation of troops in Ukraine. Tesollo targets US market with new ‘multi-joint robotic hand lineup’

South Korean robotic gripper specialist Tesollo says it will target the US market with its multi-joint robotic hand lineup, part of the Delto Gripper series.

The company showcased its technology at the recent CES event, the world’s largest electronics and IT exhibition. The demonstrations included its humanoid robotic hand, DG-5F (Delto Gripper 5-Finger).

With a hand span of approximately 20 cm, comparable to an adult male’s hand, the DG-5F features 20 degrees of freedom (DoF), enabling it to closely mimic human hand movements. Orbbec unveils ‘stereo vision 3D camera’ for mobile robots and robotic arms

Orbbec, a developer of 3D vision systems, has launched the Gemini 335Lg Stereo Vision 3D Camera at ROSCon 2024.

As the latest addition to the Gemini 330 series, the Gemini 335Lg utilizes advanced Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link 2 (GMSL2) and a Fakra connector, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in fulfillment centers, warehouses, and factories, as well as for robotic arms in complex tasks such as bin-picking and palletizing/de-palletizing.

The Gemini 330 series offers versatile 3D solutions, focusing on AMRs and robotic arms. Sonair raises $6.8 million to develop ‘breakthrough’ 3D ultrasonic sensor

Sonair has closed a new funding round, led by Skyfall Ventures, to “propel the robotics industry into a new era of sensing technology”.

The investment introduces a completely new category of sensors that will transform a mobile robot’s spatial awareness from 2D to 3D, offering a significantly improved safety performance over traditional vision systems while cutting costs by 50-80 percent.

Sensor expert SICK has expanded its high performance multiScan and picoScan LiDAR ranges to make them even more powerful, compact and robust.

With a variety of industry specific software applications that run on-device, SICK is taking LiDAR sensor technology to new levels of performance, reliability and flexibility.
