Tulsa university now offers robot delivery service from Starship Technologies

The University of Tulsa has introduced Starship Technologies’ robot food delivery service.

From breakfast bagels and lattes to Mr Beast burgers and hot wings, TU students and employees can have meals roll right up to their door anywhere on campus between 7.30 am and 11 pm.

Starship’s fleet of 15 autonomous, on-demand robots will deliver from seven campus eateries: Einstein Bros Bagels; Tulsa Burgers & Wings; SOL Tex Mex; Subway; Benvenuto; Virtual Dining Concepts, which includes Mr Beast Burgers, Tossed Salads, Mariah’s Cookie Boxes, Pardon My Cheese Steak and Buddy V’s Cake Slices; and Dietler Café in McFarlin Library.

The school’s nearly 4,000 students and 1,000 faculty and staff can now use the Starship app (iOS and Android) to order food and drinks from local retailers to be delivered anywhere on campus within minutes. Epson opens robot training centers for customers and system integrators in the US

In order to meet increased demand for automation solutions, Epson Robots is expanding access to Epson certified robot training for customers and system integrators.

The wide variety of high-quality, certified courses are designed to help students quickly and effectively program and operate Epson’s robot and vision products.

The courses are offered in-person at Epson’s headquarters in Los Alamitos, California and now at a number of regional Epson Robots Certified Training Centers located in the Western, Southern, and Northeastern US. Starship Technologies launches robot delivery service at Missouri university

Starship Technologies, the world’s leading provider of autonomous delivery services, rolled out its robot food delivery service today on the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) campus.

Starship’s fleet of 16 autonomous, on-demand robots will deliver from all campus eateries. The school’s students and faculty can now use the Starship app (iOS and Android) to order food and drinks from local retailers to be delivered anywhere on campus, within minutes. The service works in conjunction with the student meal plan.

Plymouth State University receives $1 million funding for new robotics lab

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is sending $1 million in federal funding to Plymouth State University (PSU) to aid in the construction of a new robotics laboratory to be located on the fourth floor of the Draper & Maynard Building at the Plymouth campus.

In fall 2021, PSU became the first New Hampshire institution to offer a Bachelor of Science in Robotics degree program.

Starship and Grubhub partner to bring robot delivery services to college campuses

Starship Technologies, a provider of autonomous delivery robots, and Grubhub, a food ordering and delivery marketplace, are partnering to provide robot delivery services on college campuses across the United States.

This delivery is currently available at the University of Kentucky, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), Wayne State University, Southern Methodist University and Fairfield University, and will be available at multiple other college campuses later this year.

More than 170,000 students will have access to robot deliveries across these campuses, joining the list of over 25 schools across the United States where Starship’s robots provide deliveries with its global fleet of over 2,000 robots. Ferrari calls in Comau to help with robotics learning centre

Industral robotics company Comau says it has developed the “advanced technologies and training solutions” for the educational project e.DO Learning Center, promoted by Ferrari with its ongoing support of an area in Italy.

The Center opened last week in the Istituto Istruzione Superiore (IIS) “Fermo Corni” of Modena (Italy), an Institute of Higher Education and a Secondary School.

The initiative, which highlights the increasing importance of bringing robotics from the factory to an increasing number of new sectors, provides students with a unique learning environment that is both fun and engaging. Grubhub and Cartken partner to bring robot delivery to college campuses

Grubhub, an online and mobile food-ordering and delivery platform on college campuses, and Cartken, a technology startup that specializes in self-driving, AI-powered robotics and delivery operations, have formed a partnership to bring robot delivery to college campuses.

This delivery was piloted at Ohio State University this spring, and a full roll out is expected when students return to campus this fall.

Grubhub partners with more than 250 college campuses across the United States to give students the ability to integrate meal plans directly into their Grubhub account and access restaurants both on- and off-campus for delivery and pickup. Baker-Polito administration awards $4.4 million grant for new Boston University robotics facility

The Baker-Polito Administration has announced a $4.4 million grant to Boston University for a new research and development center called the Robotics and Autonomous Systems Teaching and Innovation Center (RASTIC).

The project will drive the development of new innovations with private sector partners in Massachusetts and increase student research opportunities in the robotics space.

RASTIC will emphasize real-world prototyping projects to integrate new materials, functionality, and artificial intelligence into robotic devices, delivering tools that will allow students to design and launch their own R&D projects.
