Multiway Robotics has completed the deployment of an intelligent warehouse automation system for a manufacturing company in Malaysia, combining autonomous forklifts with warehouse management software to improve storage capacity and material handling.
The project supports more than 5,000 storage locations across raw material warehouses, finished goods storage, material preparation areas and quarantine zones.
According to Multiway Robotics, the system has increased storage density by more than 30 percent while providing end-to-end automation for warehouse operations.
The deployment comes as manufacturers across Southeast Asia continue investing in warehouse automation and digital transformation to improve operational efficiency and supply chain resilience.
To address the customer’s growing storage requirements and increasingly complex material flows, Multiway Robotics integrated a fleet of autonomous forklifts with its proprietary Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Robot Control System (RCS).
The automated system manages raw material receiving and dispatch, finished goods storage and shipping, internal material transportation, material preparation and defective product returns.
Three autonomous forklift models are deployed throughout the facility. The MW-K16 autonomous very narrow aisle (VNA) forklift operates in aisles as narrow as 1,750 mm and can lift pallets to heights of up to nine metres for high-density storage.
The X20 autonomous pallet truck transports materials between receiving, production, storage and shipping areas, while the MW-SL14 autonomous stacker automates empty pallet stacking, destacking and transfer operations.
According to the company, all three vehicle types support 24-hour operation with automatic charging and are equipped with obstacle detection, anti-collision protection, emergency stop functions, and sound and light warning systems.
Multiway Robotics said its software platform provides real-time visibility of inventory, storage locations and material status while coordinating fleet movements, optimizing routes and managing automatic charging.
The system also synchronizes warehouse data with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and warehouse management systems.
The company says the completed installation provides digitally managed control of more than 5,000 storage locations, integrated warehouse and logistics management, collaborative operation between multiple autonomous forklift models, and automation across inbound, storage, handling and outbound processes.
Multiway Robotics says it has now delivered automation solutions to more than 1,000 enterprise customers across more than 20 industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, automotive, machinery manufacturing, new energy and cold chain logistics.
