Thira Robotics to showcase new AMR at Automate Show

Thira Robotics will showcase its latest autonomous mobile robot technology at the Automate Show, where it will demonstrate how the company “guided global manufacturing, healthcare, and construction leaders in augmenting 24/7 staff services”.

Thira says demand from the market has been “strong” following its US launch in March and says it plans to show how triple safety systems overcome obstacles of first-generation AMRs.

ANYbotics raises $50 million in Series B investment

ANYbotics, a Swiss robotics startup specialising in four-legged mobile robots, have raised $50 million in Series B investment.

The funding round was led by international deep tech investors Walden Catalyst and NGP Capital with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Aramco Ventures, Swisscom Ventures, Swisscanto Private Equity, and other existing investors.

European retail giant Otto Group to install more than 100 Covariant robots at fulfilment centres

Otto Group, one of the largest online retailers in Europe, is entering into a long-term strategic partnership with Covariant, an AI robotics company. 

Covariant’s AI-powered robots will be used to automate a wide range of manual fulfilment activities that require hand-eye coordination and object manipulation – supporting Otto Group to enhance services for its customers and to take another important step towards a digitalized and AI-driven future.

The Otto Group will deploy Covariant robots to increase operational efficiency, build resilience against labour market challenges, and improve the overall quality of work within their fulfilment centres. Plus One Robotics uses Yaskawa Motoman to expand mixed depalletizing solutions

Plus One Robotics, a provider of advanced AI vision software and solutions for robotic parcel handling, has launched new customer programs using Yaskawa Motoman robots. These customer deployments are for Plus One’s induction and mixed depalletizing solutions.

This deployment of Plus One and Yaskawa robotic solutions consists of 12 new induction systems acquired by FedEx Corp. This purchase builds upon the four existing robotic systems in use at the FedEx Express Hub in Memphis, Tennessee.

Additionally, Plus One successfully introduced its mixed depalletizing systems at the FedEx Reno, NV facility. Plus One’s mixed depalletizing systems will allow for easier, more efficient movement of cases from palleted shipments throughout the FedEx facility. The Internet of Robotic Things (IoRT) market is likely to surpass $210 billion amid demand for automation in the manufacturing and service sector, according to Future Market Insights.

The IoRT market revenue was estimated at $21.4 billion in 2022 and is anticipated to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 25.6 percent from 2022 to 2032.

CNH Industrial adds new automation and autonomy solutions to agtech portfolio

Groundlight raises $10 million to launch ‘natural language powered computer vision’ service for robotics

AI startup Groundlight has launched its visual understanding service based on natural language instructions.

Groundlight says its service “enables any developer to understand images programmatically using simple English language instructions and just a few lines of code”.

Groundlight says its platform can be integrated into applications such as industrial automation, process monitoring, retail analytics, video stream analysis, and robotics.
