Groundlight raises $10 million to launch ‘natural language powered computer vision’ service for robotics

AI startup Groundlight has launched its visual understanding service based on natural language instructions.

Groundlight says its service “enables any developer to understand images programmatically using simple English language instructions and just a few lines of code”.

Groundlight says its platform can be integrated into applications such as industrial automation, process monitoring, retail analytics, video stream analysis, and robotics. Comau supplies ‘highly intelligent’ welding robots for electric automaker

Comau has supplied Hycan Automotive Technology with a “highly intelligent” welding solution for its framing line. The innovative system ensures multi-model manufacturing of new energy vehicles, high jobs per hour (JPH) and a concrete reduction in production losses. 

Deployed at the Hycan Hangzhou manufacturing base, the flexible automated production system can randomly switch between four different platforms, is fully compatible with the existing manufacturing platforms and is mass producing the brand’s smart, pure electric A06 sedan and stylish, intelligent-driving, pure electric SUV Z03 at a cycle efficiency of 60 JPH.

Hycan Automotive specializes in the development of electric vehicles, with a strategic focus on attracting young generations in the Chinese market. ANYbotics to provide steelmaker Outokumpu with its canine inspection robot

Outokumpu, one of Europe’s largest producers of stainless steel, has signed a deal with ANYbotics, a supplier of four-legged robots.

ANYbotics will provide its autonomous robotic inspection solution ANYmal to automate routine inspection at Outokumpu sites in Europe.

Exotec manufactures milestone 5,000th robot in record time

Exotec, a warehouse robotics provider, has manufactured its 5,000th robot, just three months after the production of its 4,000th robot.

The company claims this is the “shortest time yet” between manufacturing milestones, signifying an increasing business momentum driven by the growing demand for warehouse automation.

Körber develops new robotic system for de-palletizing pallets to trays

Körber Supply Chain says it has “solved” the pallet-to-tray issues many warehouses face – the company has developed a new “turnkey system solution” for de-palletizing pallets to trays.

With the launch of a new de-palletization system, Körber Supply Chain claims it has become “the first supplier of automated logistics solutions to offer a total turnkey solution for the separation of goods from pallet to tray”.

Kivnon to launch new version of its forklift AGV at Advanced Factories Expo

Kivnon will launch one of the latest additions to its AGV portfolio, the K55 Pallet Stacker, at this year’s Advanced Factories Expo, which runs from 18-20th April in Barcelona.
