Exotec, a warehouse robotics provider, has manufactured its 5,000th robot, just three months after the production of its 4,000th robot.
The company claims this is the “shortest time yet” between manufacturing milestones, signifying an increasing business momentum driven by the growing demand for warehouse automation.
The completion of the 5,000th robot, which will be named “Monu” (short for “Monumental”), is a landmark moment for the industrial unicorn, which has seen considerable growth across the UK, Europe and internationally.

Monu was built in record time – just three months after Exotec produced its 4,000th Skypod robot at the end of 2022. Exotec says the achievement is “testament” to its rapidly growing manufacturing capabilities and the growing demand for the company’s products across the globe.
In 2022, Exotec signed its first major UK customer – multichannel fulfilment and returns expert iForce – and is already installing two additional large customer projects in the UK.
Exotec has made significant strides in making warehouse jobs easier and less physically demanding. To this day, Exotec robots have saved warehouse workers from having to walk at least 16 million miles. This is equivalent to going to the moon and back 33 times.
In 2023, Exotec is committed to continuing its track record of innovation by investing in research and development. Since its inception, Exotec has doubled its R&D spend every year, and the company also commits 10 percent of all sales to go towards the development of new products.
As of today, Exotec holds 26 granted patents with 68 patent applications still pending. Almost 50 percent of all patents were filed during the last six months.
