Agility Robotics’ Digit humanoid passes 100,000-tote milestone in live GXO implementation

November 24, 2025 by David Edwards

Agility Robotics says its humanoid robot, Digit, has moved more than 100,000 totes in commercial operation at GXO Logistics’ facility in Flowery Branch, Georgia – a milestone the company describes as evidence of real industrial throughput rather than laboratory testing.

The company says the achievement reflects the growing need for scalable automation in logistics as operators face rising volumes and persistent labour shortages.

Agility has long argued that humanoids must prove reliability across thousands of cycles before they can be considered viable tools rather than novelty machines. [Read more…] about Agility Robotics’ Digit humanoid passes 100,000-tote milestone in live GXO implementation

NitroScope project launches in Ghent to map and manage Europe’s farm nitrogen flows

November 24, 2025 by David Edwards

Nitrogen is a cornerstone of agricultural productivity, yet its excessive use continues to harm soil health, water quality, and climate. To address this challenge, the NitroScope project officially kicked off with a two-day meeting at Ghent University.

The project aims to advance the quantification, management, and conservation of nitrogen fluxes across Europe, helping farmers and policymakers adopt more sustainable practices.

Achieving climate neutrality by 2050 is a central goal of the European Green Deal. However, soil-derived gaseous nitrogen emissions from agriculture are often overlooked due to challenges in monitoring. Global Industrial unveils mobile robot stretch wrap machine to reduce forklift traffic and improve warehouse safety

November 22, 2025 by David Edwards

Global Industrial, a national distributor and source for industrial equipment and supplies, has announced the launch of the Global Industrial Mobile Robot Stretch Wrap Machine, a self-propelled, semi-autonomous solution that enables facilities to securely wrap irregular or oversized pallets directly on the floor.

Designed to complement traditional turntable wrap machines, the Mobile Robot Stretch Wrap Machine travels to the load and wraps it in place, reducing forklift traffic and accommodating pallets that exceed standard turntable dimensions.

Its compact design and intuitive touchscreen support single-operator workflows in warehouse, manufacturing, and retail environments where floor space and foot traffic make fixed stations impractical. World’s first commercial vertiport DXV reaches ‘topping-out’ construction milestone

November 22, 2025 by David Edwards

Skyports Infrastructure, a developer of vertiport infrastructure for the advanced air mobility industry, and Dubai Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), have reached a pivotal milestone in the construction of the “DXV” vertiport, conducting the ceremonial “topping-out” ceremony to celebrate the building reaching its highest point.

The world’s first commercial vertiport, “DXV”, located adjacent to Dubai International Airport, is now 60 percent complete, with construction running on schedule for planned completion for Q1 2026. Post launch the vertiport will cater to flights with Joby Aviation’s S4 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, with commercial services planned in 2026.

The vertiport will be the central node of Skyports’ and RTA’s Dubai Vertiport Network (the world’s first), with further network nodes in collaboration with different developers in Dubai. [Read more…] about World’s first commercial vertiport DXV reaches ‘topping-out’ construction milestone

Bal Seal Engineering releases seals for robotics pre-certified to IP67 and IP69 requirements

November 22, 2025 by David Edwards

Bal Seal Engineering, a manufacturer of custom-engineered sealing solutions, is now providing spring-energized seals that are pre-certified to meet IP67 and IP69 rating requirements common to robotics applications.

This pre-certification eliminates the need for in-house or outsourced seal testing, saving time, reducing costs, and simplifying logistics for robotics designers.

Bal Seal provides standard and custom-developed spring-energized seals pre-certified to IP67 or IP69 requirements, as required. IP67 certification indicates a seal is dust-tight and can be submerged in water up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) for a limited time without damage. AI-enabled floor cleaning: How floor scrubbers break through the technological barriers of traditional cleaning

November 22, 2025 by David Edwards

As global cleaning automation accelerates at a CAGR exceeding 25%, the limitations of traditional floor-cleaning machines have become increasingly visible.

Manual and semi-automatic scrubbers lack the perception, intelligence, and adaptability required in modern commercial environments. Transparent liquids remain undetectable, complex terrain disrupts cleaning patterns, and inconsistent human operation causes variable cleaning quality.

Tineco, a pioneer in smart cleaning technology, is redefining the category through advanced AI-powered floor scrubbers engineered for industrial, retail, healthcare, transportation, and large-scale facilities.
