BlueBotics signs up South Korean distributor

BlueBotics, the global reference in natural feature navigation for automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), has further strengthened its footprint in Asia by announcing a new distribution agreement with South Korean motion and control pioneer MacPion.

BlueBotics’ Autonomous Navigation Technology (ANT) is being integrated by an ever-growing number of industrial vehicle original equipment manufacturers and system integrators across the globe, having been applied across a wide range of applications – from shop floors to warehouses, clean rooms, hospitals and more – over the past decade.

UBTECH launches portable social robot with ‘loving AI’

UBTECH has launched a portable social robot with what the company describes as “loving” artificial intelligence.

AlphaMini, a portable humanoid robot, which is is said to be able to chat, read, sing and dance, made its debut today in South Korea.

Doosan Robotics introduces new collaborative robot to Korea

Doosan Robotics showed its new Cobot A series for the first time at the 2019 Korea Machinery Fair (KOMAF) held from October 22 to 25 at KINTEX in Ilsan.

2019 Korea Machinery Fair, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Association of Machinery Industry (KOAMI), was held on the largest scale ever.

ZMP starts shipping its logistics support robot CarriRo in Korea

ZMP has started shipping its logistics support robot CarriRo in South Korea. The Japanese company is operating within a joint venture with Anro. (see video below.)

ZMP says it will begin shipping CarriRo in Korea from the end of November 2019.

Korea Smart Factory Foundation prepares for growth

Organisers of the Smart Factory Expo 2018 and Korea Smart Manufacturing Industry Association, along with venue providers Coex, say they are preparing for record attendance and participation at next year’s event.

Their forecasts are based on the general trend in the industrial sector in South Korea as well as this year’s event.

Hyundai creates separate industrial robotics division, aims for top 5 status

Hyundai Heavy Industries has established a robotics division and has a stated goal of becoming one of the top five industrial robot manufacturers in the world. 

Hyundai Robotics was established in 1984, and has been a division of Hyundai until now.

Doosan to launch collaborative robot

Doosan – a Korean company which supplies heavy industrial machinery and equipment used in the power generation, mining and other sectors – has launched a collaborative robot.

The move may be a surprise to some, and the company has yet to publish any information about the cobot on its website.

Rethink Robotics’ Sawyer signs deal with Korean company TPC Mechatronics

Rethink Robotics has reached a deal with a South Korean pneumatic equipment manufacturer and distributor. 

TPC Mechatronics will utilise Sawyer collaborative robots from Rethink Robotics in its own facility, as well as the facilities of its customers, in “an effort to move the entire industry toward smarter factories”, according to the companies.
