Hyundai installs AI-powered EV charging robots at South Korean airport

May 23, 2025 by Mai Tao

Hyundai Motor Group and Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) have forged a strategic agreement to install AI-based electric vehicle automatic charging robots (ACRs) at the airport as part of a demonstration project.

To that end, Hyundai signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IIAC. The signing was attended by Heui Won Yang, president and head of R&D at Hyundai; Hag Jae Lee, president and CEO of IIAC; and other officials from both parties.

Yang said: “This collaboration will serve as a significant milestone in verifying the practical benefits of future mobility technologies by combining Hyundai Motor Group’s robotics and AI capabilities with Incheon International Airport Corporation’s extensive operational experience. Boston Dynamics interview: ‘Ghastly’ grace, the uncanny valley, and the dawn of humanoid utility

May 3, 2025 by Mark Allinson

The first time I saw a Boston Dynamics robot move, I genuinely thought there was a person inside the machine. Not literally, of course, but something about the fluidity of motion – the precision, the uncanny timing – seemed less robotic and more… alive, more human or at least more animalistic.

For years, I’d watched robots lumber around trade shows or on TV, carefully placing one foot in front of the other before promptly tipping over.

So, when Boston Dynamics released videos of Atlas backflipping and dancing with unsettling realism, I wasn’t the only one who found it both mesmerizing and a little eerie. One observer even called it “ghastly” – and not as an insult, but as a mark of awe. Hyundai Robotics signs a joint venture agreement with HGZN

January 30, 2019 by Anna

Hyundai Robotics has signed a joint venture agreement for the production, sales, and after-sales services of industrial robots with Jiangsu Hagong Intelligent Robot (Ha Gong Zhi Neng [HGZN]) in China.

Under the agreement, the two parties plan to build a smart factory that is capable of manufacturing four different models by the end of 2019, and manufacture and sell 17,000 units by 2022.

The new agreement with the no. 1 auto welding company in China has provided Hyundai Robotics with the opportunity to capitalise on HGZN’s local sales network and secure manufacturing bases in China, which will serve as a bridge for Hyundai Robotics’ access to the Chinese robotics market.
