Geekplus launches its first robotic automation project in South Africa

Geekplus, one of the world’s largest providers of warehouse robotics and automation solutions, has launched its first project in South Africa in collaboration with its partner European Conveyors and Components (ECC) for the country’s online retailer, Takealot.

The innovative initiative introduces a large fleet of intelligent sorting robots to Takealot’s Johannesburg facility, setting new benchmarks for operational efficiency, ergonomics, and employee satisfaction in the logistics sector.

This is Geekplus’ first project in South Africa marking a significant milestone not only for the company but also for the evolution of robotics in African logistics. Geekplus launches ‘world’s most powerful robot management system’ in time for peak season holiday rush

Geekplus, the world’s largest warehouse robotics provider, has unveiled a “significant upgrade” to its Robot Management System (RMS) – just in time for the peak holiday season. The company says it is “the world’s most powerful robot management system”.

The enhanced RMS is capable of coordinating over 5,000 robots and processing 10,000 tasks per second, setting a new benchmark for high-volume logistics operations during the busiest time of the year.

As e-commerce orders surge during the holiday season, warehouses face the challenge of managing massive throughput without compromising speed or accuracy.

Siemens expands robotic activities with Geekplus

Geekplus, a manufacturer of autonomous mobile robots, has expanded its collaboration with electronic components manufacturer Siemens Switchgear Shanghai with the second phase of a smart manufacturing automation project.

The expansion introduces more of Geekplus’s goods-to-person picking and materials handling robots to the multi-robot configuration and opens up a further 3,000 sq m of automated warehousing space. The system achieved a delivery accuracy rate of 100 percent, with materials accuracy of over 99.98 percent in the production line.

Siemens Switchgear Shanghai first joined forces with Geekplus in 2019 and successfully built a full-process flexible automated intelligent logistics factory using four types of Geekplus robots: P800R goods-to-person picking robots, MP1000R moving robots, RS2 tote-to-person robots, and X-series four-way shuttles for high-density storage. Geek+ and Reesink Logistic Solutions partner to implement robots in warehouses

Geekplus, a manufacturer of autonomous mobile robots for warehouses, has agreed a new partnership with one of Europe’s top system integrators, Reesink Logistic Solutions.

The two companies are entering a non-exclusive cooperation covering the entire Geekplus product range and targeting primarily Northern Europe, with a focus on the Netherlands, Germany, and Poland.
