How to Resolve Window Condensation

November 26, 2024 by David Edwards

Condensation on windows is a common winter phenomenon, and not necessarily indicative of air sealing or window replacement need.

Modern double and triple paned windows often include an inert gas layer (usually argon) between their glass panes to reduce condensation risk and avoid dew point reaching its dew point and creating condensation on their panes. [Read more…] about How to Resolve Window Condensation

A comprehensive guide to LPG gas vaporizers: features and benefits

October 25, 2024 by Mark Allinson

Energy in whatever form it takes or from a myriad of sources, is highly important for a myriad of processes to take place, both domestically and in industry. While many of these sources are viable, the topic of this read, LPG gas vaporizers are especially beneficial for a myriad of reasons that are owing to their nature.

The most vital aspect of the vaporizers in question is their ability to make what they carry ready for designated use but said benefit bleeds into others that are worth mentioning according to I-Maximum.

Let’s check said benefits by further understanding what the device in question is in great detail, after which the advantage list will follow. [Read more…] about A comprehensive guide to LPG gas vaporizers: features and benefits

Advancements in robotics continue to transform oil and gas operations, says GlobalData

October 21, 2024 by Mark Allinson

With the applications of robotics continuously evolving, the oil and gas industry has emerged as a significant adopter of the technology to improve safety and efficiency of operations.

Robots equipped with advanced technologies are yielding increasingly positive results, bringing a continued transformation in the operations of oil and gas companies, says GlobalData, a data and analytics research company.

GlobalData’s latest thematic report, Robotics in Oil and Gas, highlights the role of major oil and gas companies, such as ADNOC, BP, Eni, Equinor, ExxonMobil, Repsol, Rosneft, Shell, and TotalEnergies in the development and adoption of robotics to enhance safety and productivity on the field. CMU Robotics Institute develops system to detect and fix problems in gas pipelines

February 2, 2024 by Mark Allinson

Researchers in Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute are developing a modular robot that can creep inside natural gas pipelines to map where pipes are, detect decrepit or leaking pipes, and, when necessary, repair the pipe by applying a resin coating along its inner wall.

“We don’t even know where all the old pipes are,” says Howie Choset, the Kavčić-Moura Professor of Computer Science, who directs the project in the Biorobotics Lab with research scientist Lu Li.

The confined spaces of pipes, largely inaccessible to people, are a natural place to deploy robots. Over the years, CMU researchers and spinout companies have developed a number of schemes and robots for inspecting sewer, gas distribution and nuclear power plant pipes. 300,000 tons in carbon emissions ‘could be saved by autonomous oil and gas operations’

November 14, 2022 by Mark Allinson

ABB has published another of its Energy Transition Equation reports that shows how industrial customers can reduce carbon emissions and manage the energy transition for a more sustainable future.

Based on nine months of research and modelling, the report highlights how early adoption and integration of automation, digitalization, and electrification technologies to enable autonomous operations can deliver savings of over 300,000 tons of carbon emissions per annum for offshore sites (approximately 25 percent reduction).

This is the equivalent of removing 150,000 combustion cars from the road and is the same volume of CO2 responsible for five million tons of glacier mass lost each year. [Read more…] about 300,000 tons in carbon emissions ‘could be saved by autonomous oil and gas operations’

Ethereum co-founder wants a more varied fee structure

February 18, 2022 by David Edwards

Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of the Ethereum blockchain, talked about gas fees and how to reduce them. Buterin informed the public about the possibility of the latest system having the ability to balance the issues people have with the current state of the gas charges that ETH buyers constantly complain about.

Ethereum fees have been a burning topic of discussion recently. It first boomed in 2021 with people complaining about the immensely high gas fees when Ethereum gas costs were at their acme.

Since then, it has reduced, but the fee is still pretty high on several trading websites like redot.com/eth2 and this remains a quandary for Buterin to solve. On a blog, Buterin did talk about gas fee reduction as well as scalability. [Read more…] about Ethereum co-founder wants a more varied fee structure
