Where to Buy Process Automation Services for Manufacturing

February 26, 2026 by David Edwards

From robotic to business process automation, the number of tasks manufacturing companies can delegate to more efficient technologies is growing.

However, many enterprises need to seek third-party expertise to implement these properly, or more inefficiencies and misunderstandings could arise.

So, where can you buy process automation services for manufacturing, and how can they increase the likelihood of yielding the results organizations want? [Read more…] about Where to Buy Process Automation Services for Manufacturing

Designing for Automation in Injection Molding: How Product Design Drives Robotic Manufacturing Efficiency

February 19, 2026 by David Edwards

The use of automation in injection molding has developed beyond the basic part extraction into all-inclusive robotic cells that manage the molding process, inspection, assembly, and packaging.

With seemingly great emphasis on the selection of robots, end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), and control systems, the critical elements that determine the success of automation are often made at a much earlier stage when the product is being designed.

Geometry, material behavior, and handling features of parts have a direct impact on cycle time, and defect rates. Design for Automation (DfA) is a base engineering discipline that connects product design, mold design, and manufacturing productivity. Interview with Reframe Systems CEO: ‘We’re developing a robotics and vision platform to unlock automation’

February 10, 2026 by Sam Francis

As the construction sector grapples with stubborn labor shortages, rising costs, and mounting pressure to deliver housing at scale, a new class of automation companies is emerging that promises to reshape how homes are built.

One of the most intriguing among them is Reframe Systems, a technology company that blends industrial robotics, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing to automate large chunks of the construction process that have long resisted mechanization.

Founded on the conviction that real-world productivity gains require more than isolated bricklaying robots or simple material movers, Reframe describes its approach as “physical AI” for construction – applying robotics and automation within controlled factory environments to deliver repeatable, high-quality building components at scale. 7 CNC-Machined Components Every Industrial Robot Depends On

February 9, 2026 by Sam Francis

Industrial robots are sold as complete systems, but under the housing, they are assemblies of individually machined parts. Every joint, every actuator mount, and every end-of-arm tool starts as a block of metal on a CNC machine before it becomes part of a functioning robot.

This matters to robotics companies because the quality and lead time of these machined components directly affect how quickly a robot moves from prototype to production. A bearing housing that is 0.05mm out of spec creates play in a joint that compounds across the kinematic chain.

A gearbox casing with a poor surface finish wears faster under load. These are not theoretical problems. They are the kinds of issues that delay product launches and drive up warranty costs. [Read more…] about 7 CNC-Machined Components Every Industrial Robot Depends On

ABB launches ‘Automation Extended’ to help industries modernize control systems without disruption

February 8, 2026 by Sam Francis

ABB has introduced a new automation architecture called Automation Extended, designed to help industrial operators upgrade their control systems while avoiding costly shutdowns and large-scale equipment replacements.

The program builds on ABB’s installed base of distributed control systems (DCS) and aims to provide a structured path for companies to adopt newer digital technologies – including artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and Internet of Things connectivity – without interfering with mission-critical operations.

Industries such as energy, chemicals, mining, and utilities are under increasing pressure from volatile markets, cybersecurity risks, regulatory demands, and workforce changes. ABB says its new approach allows operators to modernize gradually while preserving existing infrastructure.
