Fanuc demonstrates cobots at Amazon’s re:MARS Conference

June 6, 2019 by Anna

Fanuc America, supplier of robotics, CNCs and Robomachines, has expanded its line of collaborative robots to include six models, on display at  re:MARS Tech Showcase 4-7 June 4-7 in Las Vegas.

The series of power and force limiting collaborative robots can handle 4-35 kg payloads and a 550-1813 mm reach.

The cobots are equipped with Fanuc’s iHMI touch screen user interface. The Hand Guidance feature allows operators to teach a collaborative robot by leading it through paths, and/or use it to lift heavy objects manually.

‘E-logistics’ event Deliver opens its doors in Portugal

June 5, 2019 by Abdul Montaqim

The Portuguese capital city of Lisbon is playing host to one of the most important events in the e-commerce logistics and supply chain industry, Deliver.

Some describe Deliver as the “Davos of e-commerce” because it attracts all the most important e-commerce companies as well as the companies which provide the technology they rely on.

And that’s why we’re here.

E-commerce companies are increasingly dependent on technologies such as conveyors, automated storage and retrieval systems, robots, and even artificial intelligence to gain a competitive edge over their rivals.

And in such a competitive market with relatively low margins, any slim advantage is fought for as though the survival of the business depends on it. [Read more…] about ‘E-logistics’ event Deliver opens its doors in Portugal

Efficient Robotics launches technology for biomolecule screening

June 4, 2019 by Anna

Efficient Robotics GmbH has announced the commercialisation of its Nano-Titer-Pipe (NTP) Screening Workstation for screening millions of biomolecules and cells in hours and days, as opposed to conventional technologies that takes weeks and even months.

The microfluidic platform  revolutionises the process of ultra-high throughput screening for the optimisation of enzymes, antibodies, proteins, microbial strains and mammalian cells, says the company.

The NTP Screening Workstation is said to be faster and more cost-effective than conventional technologies based on conventional “robotic arm” screening technology.

Hyundai walking car concept for the ‘first responder’ industry

June 3, 2019 by Anna

Any first responder will tell you that the first 72 hours following a natural disaster are the most crucial to saving lives.

However, often times due to the nature of the disaster (forest fire, earthquake, hurricane, or flood), it can be difficult for search-and-rescue and humanitarian aid missions to reach and get immediate help to those in need.

The need for efficient, rapid, resilient transportation for disaster assistance is what led Hyundai to develop the first-ever vehicle with moveable legs.
