Automate 2025: North America’s biggest industrial automation event

Automate 2025 – which starts Monday – is North America’s largest robotics and automation event, a key meeting point for professionals in this rapidly evolving field.

Since its beginnings in 1976 as the first “Robots Show”, it has grown and adapted, becoming Automate in 2011 after merging with other industry events. Recognizing the increasing importance of automation, Automate became an annual standalone event in 2022.

Honeywell is teaming up with Teradyne Robotics to deliver automation solutions for logistics, warehousing and fast-moving consumer goods companies throughout the Americas and Europe.

Glīd Technologies unveils vehicle that can transport goods by road or rail

Kevin Damoa, founder and CEO of Glīd Technologies is on a mission to bring the railways into what’s come to be known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution – the idea of modern, hi-tech computing combining with good old-fashioned machinery.

In the case of Glīd Technologies – a California based company founded by veterans from SpaceX, Google, and the military – combining technologies from different ages and indeed worlds has resulted in the deployment of “the world’s first hybrid and autonomous road-to-rail freight systems”.

Saudi Arabia launches ambitious plan to ‘revolutionize mobility’ in new sandbox city

Saudi Arabia has announced ambitious plans to “revolutionize the mobility landscape” through a long-term, multi-trillion-dollar investment in a multi-modal transport ecosystem. This announcement comes just ahead of President Trump’s scheduled visit to the Kingdom next week. 

The spectacular transport project – called the “Future Mobility Sandbox” – is an initiative developed by the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services (MOTLS), and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (MIM).

Approximately 1.6 million humanoid robots will be working in the automotive manufacturing industry within the next 10 years, according to a report by IDTEchEx. Article by Yulin Wang, senior technology analyst at IDTechEx

Historically, the automotive and logistics sectors have led the charge in adopting automation and robotics, ranging from mobile robots and industrial arms to collaborative robots.

Now, in a similar trend, automotive OEMs and warehouse operators are once again taking the lead, this time with humanoid robots. Several industry giants, including BYD and Tesla, have announced plans to increase humanoid robot deployment tenfold over the next year.
