Warehouse robotics company Exotec opens new global headquarters

Exotec, a specialist in warehouse robotics, has opened its new headquarters in Northern France, at the heart of Europe.

Named “Imaginarium”, the facility reflects Exotec’s commitment to designing, developing and industrialising its technologies in Europe, and will be central to supporting its global growth.

New York Robotics launches as region’s startup count passes 160

New York Robotics has formally launched as a non-profit organisation, citing rapid growth in robotics startups, investment activity, and talent across New York City and the wider Tri-State region.

The group said its ecosystem now includes more than 160 robotics startups across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, with nearly 100 based in New York City alone. The figures underline the region’s growing role in robotics and embodied AI as the technology moves from research into commercial deployment.

Interstuhl automates seat coating with Dürr’s robotic mould-surface technology

High-end furniture design company Interstuhl Büromöbel says it relies on modern coating technology from Dürr for the production of its work chairs for industrial and laboratory applications.

The new system automates the coating of the inner surfaces of foam moulds. Utilising the modular EcoSupply2 Core paint supply station and a 2K process controlled by an EcoAUC, Interstuhl has achieved an efficient coating process with up to five colours.

Interstuhl Büromöbel, headquartered in Meßstetten, is one of Europe’s leading chair manufacturers, producing high-quality office chairs for over 60 years. ABB Robotics leads global effort to standardize measurement of industrial robot energy consumption

ABB Robotics is spearheading an initiative to develop the first global, standardized method for measuring the energy consumption and efficiency of industrial robots.

ABB says this effort marks a “critical step” toward improving transparency and supporting the global transition to more sustainable manufacturing.

Carbon Robotics launches the world’s first-ever large plant model

Carbon Robotics, a provider of agriculture AI and robotics, says it has achieved a “major breakthrough” for global agriculture with the launch of “the world’s first Large Plant Model (LPM) – the most advanced AI model for plant detection and identification”.

Waabi raises $1 billion to accelerate commercialization of autonomous trucking and expand into robotaxis

Waabi, a developer of autonomous trucks and physical AI, has closed its oversubscribed $750 million Series C round co-led by Khosla Ventures and G2 Venture Partners, and secured an additional milestone-based future investment from Uber to support a new partnership to deploy robotaxis powered by the Waabi Driver exclusively on the Uber platform.

The funding, the largest fundraise in Canadian history, will fuel the continued advancement of Waabi’s Physical AI Platform, further accelerate the company’s commercial progress in autonomous trucking, and support Waabi’s expansion into robotaxis.

Richtech Robotics partners with Microsoft to advance agentic AI in real-world robotics applications

Richtech Robotics, a US-based provider of AI-driven robots operating in commercial and industrial environments, has announced a hands-on collaboration with Microsoft through the Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Labs to jointly develop and deploy agentic artificial intelligence capabilities in real-world robotic systems.

Through close collaboration between Richtech Robotics’ engineering team and Microsoft’s AI Co-Innovation Labs, the companies worked together to enhance Richtech Robotics’ Adam robot with adaptive intelligence powered by Azure AI.

OpenMind launches app store for robots

OpenMind, a robotics software company, has launched its “App Store for robots”, a platform designed to serve as the software distribution layer for quadruped and humanoid robots already operating in real-world environments.

As robots move beyond research labs into commercial and consumer deployment, software – not hardware – has emerged as the primary constraint on scale. Multiply Labs has reached an agreement with pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca to evaluate the potential for applying GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)-ready robotic systems to commercial-scale cell therapy manufacturing. Multiply Labs is a specialist in autonomous manufacturing technology for advanced therapies.

The collaboration will focus on end-to-end robotic automation of industry-standard instruments used in cell therapy production using Multiply Labs’ robotic biomanufacturing system.
