Starship and Bolt launch grocery deliveries by robot

Starship Technologies, a provider of autonomous delivery services, and mobility app Bolt, are partnering to launch a new food delivery service. 

As the first rollout of the commercial partnership agreed between the two Estonian-founded tech giants last year, this collaboration in Tallinn, Estonia, is the first of its kind in Europe.

The combination of Starship’s cutting-edge robots and Bolt’s rapid expansion into delivery tech is set to shape the future of urban mobility across Europe.

Starship Technologies’ autonomous robots deliver from three University of Minnesota eateries

University of Minnesota Twin Cities community members will see food delivery robots — powered by Starship Technologies — rolling around campus.

They are part of the first University-run food delivery service on the Twin Cities campus and are the first technology of this kind approved in Minneapolis.

Via the Starship app, students, faculty, staff and visitors can order delivery to almost anywhere on the East Bank from Panda Express, Starbucks and Erbert & Gerbert’s in Coffman Memorial Union. Computacenter installs Exotec’s Skypod system to ‘optimise warehouse logistics’

Warehouse robotics provider Exotec has implemented its Skypod system at Computacenter, a provider of IT services in Europe. Computacenter aims to meet the increasing demands being placed on its order processing capabilities.

Due to the ever-growing number of small orders and a sharp rise in shipments, Computacenter needed to increase the efficiency and flexibility of its internal logistics processes.

Dexory secures $80 million funding to drive global expansion goals

Dexory, the leading robotics and data intelligence company, has successfully closed an $80 million Series B funding round.

The round was led by DTCP, with participation from Latitude Ventures, Wave-X and Bootstrap Europe, along with existing investors Atomico, Lakestar, Capnamic and several angels from the logistics industry. As part of this investment, DTCP’s Michael Rager joins Dexory’s board of directors.

The new funding, made up of a mix of equity and growth debt, will support an expansion of their artificial intelligence (AI) powered features across the DexoryView platform, grow its global team and accelerate the deployment of its autonomous robots with customers like GXO, Maersk, DB Schenker and beyond. PepsiCo automates its first warehouse in Poland with Mecalux

The intralogistics group Mecaluxhas installed PepsiCo’s first automated warehouse in Poland. The leading global food and beverage company has operated along the Vistula River since the 1970s, opening its first factory in Michrów in 1991.

With 9,000 locations for finished goods, this space is part of the Środa Śląska factory. The plant – the multinational’s most sustainable in Europe – is responsible for distributing thousands of pallets of potatoes daily.

Pickommerce secures $3.4 million investment to advance robotic piece-picking technology

Pickommerce, a warehouse automation startup, has secured $3.4 million in funding to advance the development, production and marketing of its “innovative PickoBot piece-picking robot”.

Pickommerce’s technology is poised to disrupt the warehouse automation market, which is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 53.4 percent and reach nearly $9 billion by 2029, according to research firm Mordor Intelligence.

The funding round was led by IL Ventures, a fund focused on disruptive technologies for legacy industries, and includes InNegev, Fusion VC, the Israel Innovation Authority and strategic investor ZIM Ventures, the corporate venture arm of maritime shipping company ZIM Integrated Shipping Services. KSP partners with Peak Technologies and Locus Robotics to install 60 robots at Minnesota site

KSP Fulfillment, a third-party logistics company, is partnering with Peak Technologies, a provider of digital supply chain and mobile workforce solutions, and Locus Robotics, a provider of autonomous mobile robot solutions for fulfillment warehouses.

KSP has deployed 60 of Locus’s autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) at its warehouse in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, with operations initiated in August 2024.
