How anyone can drink coffee without milk, cream or sugar is beyond our understanding of human taste buds, but anyway…
A robot barista would not be making such judgments, and would serve up the coffee just as the man who walked into the bar had ordered it.

A company called Mecademic is showcasing what it claims is the world’s smallest and most accurate six-axis robot.
The Meca500 is small enough to fit into a briefcase and its makers claim that the tiny robotic arm has a repeatability of just 5 microns, or 5 millionths of a metre.

Kuka’s new, lightweight collaborative robot has gone into series production, says the company.
The Kuka LBR Med – short for medical – is designed to be operated in the “immediate vicinity” of the human operator.

The government of Slovenia has decided to back Yaskawa’s investment in the country with €5.6 million of public money.
Yaskawa is building a factory in the country and plans to invest a total of €25 million in the European nation of just over 2 million people.
Prime Minister Miro Cerar said at the time: ““I am very pleased that our efforts paid off and that the renowned Japanese company of Yaskawa Electric decided to invest in Slovenia.”
The Yaskawa investment is forecast to create more than 170 new jobs and the industrial giant is regarded as the “most important Japanese company” with assets in the country by the Slovenian government.
Pearson says its technicians have complete Fanuc’s extensive training program and earn a “hard-to-come-by accreditation” to perform robotic troubleshooting and repair work
Pearson Packaging Systems, a provider of automation solutions and longstanding Fanuc partner, has become a Fanuc-certified servicing integrator.
Pearson is now able to augment its service offering to customers by taking full responsibility for diagnosing issues and executing warranty repairs that would previously have required Fanuc-direct assistance.

The worldwide collaborative robot market is expected to be worth $95 billion by 2024, according to a new report by Transparency Market Research.
Companies in the global collaborative robot market are focused on the acquisition of smaller and local automation companies to expand their operations, says Transparency.

TAL Manufacturing Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors, has launched a new industrial robot.
The compact Brabo 2kg payload range of industrial articulated robot was unveiled at the Imtex 2017 a couple of days ago.
The company says the launch of Brabo heralds a phenomena it calls “robolution”, adding that industrial Rrobotics will take a “quantum leap” with the TAL Brabo expanding its robot line-up to cater to original equipment manufacturers, as well as medium and small enterprises. Yanfeng Automotive Interiors is utilising collaborative industrial robots from Rethink Robotics to “improve accuracy, and output”
Yanfeng has put two of Rethink Robotics’ Sawyer robots to work in its Monroe, Michigan-based facility.
By introducing Sawyer, Yanfeng Frenchtown says it is improving two production processes, while freeing up employees to be used at positions where they can add more value.
Both Sawyer robots are being utilized to perform packaging tasks. One robot is removing trapped labor by packing parts from a conveyor onto a rack, handling 180 parts every 54 minutes. The second robot is counting parts from a conveyor as it places them into a tote, precisely packaging each tote with 80 parts. Industrial robots are in high demand in the automotive sector, and a research company is saying the market will grow to beyond $8 billion by 2021.
