New Scale Robotics enhances its automated gauging system through robotic thread verification

April 6, 2023 by David Edwards

Thread verification is the latest enhancement to New Scale Robotics’ Q-Span Automated Gauging System, a “do-it-yourself” robotic automation system for quality teams in high-mix, small-batch manufacturing.

The Q-Span Gauging System automates gauging processes by combining existing manual gauges with a collaborative robot, grippers for part handling, easy-to-use metrology and robot control software, and automated data collection.

The robot arm loads parts into a fixture and activates the thread gauge to verify or chase threaded holes or external threads. [Read more…] about New Scale Robotics enhances its automated gauging system through robotic thread verification

The evolution of car technology

March 20, 2023 by Mark Allinson

While there is a certain charm when it comes to classic cars, or cars that are a little bit older, they can leave you having a less than comfortable journey.

Winding down the windows with handles as the only form of AC and needing to heat the car up for 15 minutes because of the slow heaters can put a damper on the trip for sure.

And while you can hook your phone up and use that as SatNav, most cars now come with it. Leaving the A to Z map in the past (unless you love a tech-free lifestyle).  [Read more…] about The evolution of car technology

The Importance of Tire Selection in Motorsports: A Guide for Racers

February 20, 2023 by Mark Allinson

When it comes to racing, cars are built for speed. However, the frames and engines aren’t the most important part of the vehicle. The tires are arguably the most crucial part of the vehicle.

If you are involved in motorsport, the motorsport tires you need will depend on the track that you’re racing on. If you are going to race on a track, the tire selection will depend on a number of factors which will be mentioned below.

Considering Tyre Regulations: Finding a suitable tire for your type of competition can be a confusing task. The first thing you need to do is to consult the regulations in place. For instance, regulations for racing in the UK are set by Motorsport UK. [Read more…] about The Importance of Tire Selection in Motorsports: A Guide for Racers
