Comau showcases welding and robotics portfolio at Schweissen & Schneiden 2025

September 23, 2025 by Sam Francis

Comau used this year’s Schweissen & Schneiden trade fair in Essen to showcase a wide range of welding and robotics technologies, including collaborative robots, wearable exoskeletons, mobile welding systems, and advanced training platforms.

The Italian automation company presented its portfolio at Booth C27 in Hall 2, positioning itself as a supplier of both industrial and collaborative solutions designed to improve productivity and flexibility across different sectors.

Among the systems on display was a new arc welding cell built around the company’s S-Series robot, in its 18 kg payload version (S-18). Comau said the robot was designed for high performance and precision in space-constrained industrial environments. How Data Science Transforms Fraud Detection in Banking

September 22, 2025 by Sam Francis

Fraud costs banks billions every year. Traditional detection systems – based on rigid rules – catch some suspicious activity but often fail against smarter schemes.

We researched how financial institutions are shifting to data science for fraud detection, gathering case studies, numbers, and expert perspectives.

For this piece, we spoke with Igor Izraylevych, CEO of S-PRO. With years of experience leading AI and analytics projects for finance, Igor highlights how modern data science goes beyond static rules and why business success depends on strong data pipelines as much as clever models. Omron to consider spinning off device and module solutions business

September 22, 2025 by Sam Francis

Omron says its board of directors has approved the start of discussions to spin off its Device & Module Solutions Business (DMB), with the process targeted for completion by April 1, 2026.

The Kyoto-based company said DMB has long provided relays, switches, connectors, and other core electronic components that have supported Omron’s growth. Rising demand for high-capacity relays in electric vehicles is expected to drive market expansion, but Omron noted that competition is intensifying.

The company said an independent structure would allow DMB to respond faster to market changes, invest more heavily in product development, and expand production and sales globally while maintaining its established reputation for quality.
