Robotics specialist Sewtec completes ‘six-figure packaging machine’ to launch new Tetley product line

Robotics specialist Sewtec has created a six-figure bespoke packaging machine for Tata Global Beverages, bringing a new Tetley fruit tea product line to market from its flagship UK plant.

Sewtec’s new technology has been installed in Tata Global Beverages’ largest factory across its global operations, located in Eaglescliffe, England. The plant operates 24 hours a day for five days a week, producing 260 million tea bags every week.

The Tetley brand – which operates across 40 countries worldwide and celebrates its 180th anniversary this year – is now able to pack 2,000 tea bags every minute with this new automated system. Industrial automation market to reach $352 billion by 2024, says report

The market for industrial automation products and services is forecast to reach $352 billion by 2024, according to a report by Transparency Market Research.

According to the study, the global industrial automation market is projected to rise at 6.6 percent a year over the forecast period between 2016 and 2024.

Industrial Internet Consortium combines with OpenFog Consortium

The Industrial Internet Consortium and the OpenFog Consortium have agreed in principle to combine the two largest and most influential international consortia in Industrial IoT, fog and edge computing.

The move will bring OpenFog members into the IIC organization at a time when their complementary areas of technology are emerging in the mainstream.

The combined memberships will continue to drive the momentum of the Industrial Internet including the development and promotion of industry guidance and best practices for fog and edge computing. RightHand Robotics raises $23 million in Series B funding

RightHand Robotics, a provider of integrated robotic piece-picking solutions, has secured $23 million in a Series B funding round led by Menlo Ventures, an active investor in the robotics sector.

GV, formerly Google Ventures, also joined this round along with existing investors, including Dream Incubator, Matrix Partners, and Playground Global.

Kvaser launches new wireless CAN bridge to make ‘light work’ of network connection

Kvaser, a specialist Controller Area Network development, has launched its new “Air Bridge Light HS”, a high-performance wireless CAN bridge to connect CAN networks.

Comprising a preconfigured pair of plug-and-play units, with integrated antennas and rugged housings, Kvaser says the Air Bridge Light HS provides “a rapid way of exchanging raw CAN data”.

Siemens becomes ‘world’s first’ to gain new TÜV SÜD certification

Siemens is the world’s first company to gain TÜV SÜD certification for the secure system integration of process automation and drive solutions in compliance with the international IEC 62443-2-4 standards.

The integration projects, verified on the basis of two standard solutions in the oil & gas processing industry and in a waste incineration plant, have been certified in conformity with IEC 62443-2-4 and -3-3 and were implemented using the Simatic PCS 7 process control system.

Advanced driver assistance systems market to reach $67 billion by 2024

The global market for advanced driver assistance systems market is set to reach $67 billion by 2024, according to a report by Global Market Insights.

Park assist systems accounted for 11 percent of the ADAS market share, according to GMI, which also finds that there are “substantial applications for blind spots elimination and accidental threats mitigation”.

Aerospace robotics market predicted to grow as manufacturers turn to automation to meet orders

The global aerospace robotics market is expected to display higher growth rate over the next seven years, according to a report by Million Insights. 

The market is subject to witness a substantial growth due to the growing demand for robotics and automation in the aerospace industry, rising adoption of robots for efficient aircraft production, and increasing implementation of aircraft orders backlog.

‘Deliver’ event moves on to Lisbon after successful London conference

The third edition of the invite-only and “carbon neutral” Deliver series took place on June 5th and 6th 2018 in London, at Twickenham Stadium, with 750 attendees – a 70 per cent increase compared to the last edition – coming from 35 different countries.

Deliver 2019 will take place on June 5th and 6th 2019 in Lisbon (Estoril Congress Center) and will involve 1,200 attendees.
