Soul App’s ‘Lazy KTV’ Event: Transforming Music into Social Harmony with AI

April 21, 2024 by Mark Allinson

Soul App recently unveiled a trendsetting initiative that is being termed as a near-perfect amalgamation of music and technology. Called “Lazy KTV”, this function is being hailed by platform users as the very embodiment of the spirit of connection, engagement, and entertainment that are the foundational pillars on which the app is designed and continues to function.

The event represents a culmination of Soul’s relentless pursuit of interactive experiences that transcend conventional boundaries. With the integration of the multi-person AI Duet function. The “Lazy KTV” event epitomizes the transformative power of AIGC technology used to facilitate deeper, better, and more meaningful social interactions through the medium of music.

In fact, with “Lazy KTV”, Soul App has managed to change the face of social play and social interactions. So, it would not be far-fetched to say that the function has set a new and unique standard for engagement and creativity. Although the “Lazy KTV” event was built by harnessing the capabilities of the very powerful AIGC technology, the team behind Soul has kept its functionality refreshingly simple.

The feature enables users to set out on a musical journey unlike any other. Through a simple 30-second audio clip, users can craft personalized voice models that serve as the foundation for their musical creations. From thereon, the three AI singing modes – balanced, similarity, and expressiveness – offer a plethora of possibilities, allowing users to create music covers that are a reflection of their very own preferences and styles.

However, what truly sets the “Lazy KTV” event apart is how it enables collective creativity through the AI Duet mode. The function allows users to invite friends to join in the fun by enabling AI-driven voice cloning, which opens up the pathway for a virtual duet journey.

As was expected, the function has found immense favor with the platform’s users most of whom are youngsters grappling with loneliness and keen on connecting and engaging with people in a whole new way. Dissecting the success of the “Lazy KTV” event reveals Soul’s unwavering commitment to innovation and technological advancement, which laid the groundwork for this function.

Since the inception of Soul App, it has been at the forefront of AI-driven social platforms. The team working behind the scenes has been consistently leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance user engagement and satisfaction. Early on, they developed two proprietary engines- Lingxi and NAWA, which was the platform’s way to push the boundaries of possibility and reimagine the very concept of social interactions and connections.

The year 2020 was a turning point of sorts for Soul App as its team took significant strides in the direction of developing AIGC technology. At the time, their focus was on intelligent dialogue and image generation, and AIGC opened up a world of possibilities in this direction.

The new age technology allowed Soul App to deliver immersive and personalized experiences to its users. Everything from AI-assisted chat to AI-created virtual companions turned into reality as AIGC became an integral part of the Soul experience. The net effect included enriched and more soulful interactions and deeper connections among users, which further fuelled the app’s popularity among Gen Z.

The Soul App team then turned its sight towards the possibility of using music as a medium for social connections and interactions. In fact, it was at this point that music turned into a crucial element of the Soul culture. As an interest-based social platform, Soul was quick to recognize the inherent power of music to unite people and foster a sense of belonging.

And this emphasis on music paid rich dividends as it attracted a diverse array of users, ranging from aspiring musicians to avid music enthusiasts. Through features such as music comments, lyric sharing, and song duets, Soul managed to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive community in which music plays the role of a catalyst of connection and expression.

Since then, Soul has made significant investments in using music as the direction for social engagement and connections, which culminated in the development of the Linglun engine. This engine, with its industry-leading audio deep learning capabilities, paved the way for an ingenious function called the “Soul Dimension Singer”.

Because this feature allowed users to create their own AI singer avatars, with its introduction, Soul essentially democratized the music creation process, and empowered individuals to unleash their creativity and express themselves in new and exciting ways.

More recently, the Soul App team launched Linglun Version 2.0, which is a significant leap forward in audio synthesis technology. With enhanced vocal range control and singing voice synthesis capabilities, the engine delivers unparalleled fidelity and realism, elevating the music creation experience to new heights. From multi-person multi-scale self-adaptive models to cutting-edge denoising diffusion probability models, Linglun 2.0 offers it all and more.

As a matter of fact, after the introduction of the “Lazy KTV” event, the Soul App team is now prepping to use Linglun 2.0 to offer the best-in-class experience to its users with one-click music creation. This is definitely a feature that the Soul community is eagerly awaiting and one that the industry should watch out for.
