LionsBot launches ‘world’s first Zero Click cleaning robots’

July 8, 2023 by Mai Tao

LionsBot International, which says its cleaning robots are in operation in more than 30 countries, has unveiled three new products – the R3 Vac, R3 Scrub Pro and the MagicTag.

The company says the new products “revolutionise autonomous professional cleaning”. Both the R3 Vac and R3 Scrub Pro are professional-grade vacuuming and scrubbing robots respectively, while the MagicTag enables both LionsBots to become “Zero Click” and very easy to use.

Currently, there is a global shortage of professional cleaners. However, most professional cleaning robots still require users to undergo extensive training before using the robot. Coupled with the high turnover rate experienced in the cleaning industry, this is not practical. [Read more…] about LionsBot launches ‘world’s first Zero Click cleaning robots’

The Rise of Industrial Robotics: Automating the Workplace

July 4, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Industrial robotics is fast becoming necessary in the workplace, offering countless advantages over traditional manual labor.

Robots are more efficient and accurate than humans, and they can also work longer hours without getting tired or needing to take breaks.

Likewise, robots can be programmed to carry out specific tasks with precision and speed that would otherwise be impossible for human workers to achieve. [Read more…] about The Rise of Industrial Robotics: Automating the Workplace

How Premium Rubber Tracks Decrease Downtime and Reduce Costs

June 30, 2023 by David Edwards

Robotics and automation have revolutionized several industry branches in the 21st century, like agriculture, manufacturing, medicine, military operations, and construction.

Automated robots are reliable and durable machines that produce at a high-performance level, so they need high-quality designs, manufacturing processes, and equipment.

Robots can mimic and exceed human capabilities like strength, precision, productivity, and durability. However, human leg articulations and movement are aspects that robots don’t mimic 100% yet. Most rely on tracks to displace. For mobile robots, high-quality rubber tracks are a must. [Read more…] about How Premium Rubber Tracks Decrease Downtime and Reduce Costs

Dental Robotics: A Disruptive Technology Explained

June 29, 2023 by David Edwards

Robotic dentistry is a new subfield of dentistry that aims to improve both dental practice and patient care via the use of cutting-edge technology and automated tools. It entails using technologies like robots, AI, and automation for the diagnostic, therapeutic, and operative aspects of dental care.

Dentists may benefit greatly from the employment of specialized robots created for the purpose of assisting them in providing high-quality dental treatment.

Tooth preparation, dental implant surgery, orthodontic operations, and even teeth cleaning are just some of the things that these robots can accomplish. They have sensors, cameras, and robotic arms to let them explore the oral cavity and carry out complex treatments with pinpoint accuracy. Ready Robotics ‘making robotics system design easier’ for non-programmers

May 24, 2023 by David Edwards

Robotics hardware traditionally requires programmers to deploy it. Ready Robotics wants to change that with its “no code” software aimed at people working in manufacturing who haven’t got programming skills.

The Columbus, Ohio, startup is a spinout of robotics research from Johns Hopkins University. Kel Guerin was a PhD candidate there leading this research when he partnered with Benjamin Gibbs, who was at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures, to land funding and pursue the company, now led by Gibbs as CEO.

Guerin, who’s now chief innovation officer at the startup, says: “There was this a-ha moment where we figured out that we could take these types of visual languages that are very easy to understand and use them for robotics.” [Read more…] about Ready Robotics ‘making robotics system design easier’ for non-programmers

Wiferion launches compact wireless charging system for small mobile robots

May 20, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Wiferion, an energy solution supplier powering mobile robots and autonomous industrial vehicles through wireless charging, introduced its new inductive etaLINK 1000 charging system to the US market, making its successful wireless charging technology available to smaller robots for the first time.

The new mobile charging unit integrated into the robot measures just 160 mm – making it 36 percent smaller than the etaLINK 3000, Wiferion’s standard charging system for autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and autonomous guided vehicles (AGV).

etaLINK 1000 has all the advantages of the larger models, such as high positioning tolerance, maintenance-free operation, and fast start up of power transfer in around one second. Wiferion will debut the etaLINK 1000 at Automate, May 22-25, 2023, in Detroit. [Read more…] about Wiferion launches compact wireless charging system for small mobile robots
