RLWRLD raises $26 million, bringing total funding to $41 million

March 11, 2026 by David Edwards

RLWRLD, a physical AI company developing robotics foundation models – software intelligence trained directly in real industrial environments – has closed a Seed 2 funding round, bringing its total seed investment to approximately $41 million.

The latest round raised approximately $26 million, following a $15 million Seed 1 round. The company said the new funding was driven not solely by capital needs but by a strategic push to expand its coalition of industry-based strategic investors (SIs) as demand for collaborative deployments accelerates.

The Seed 2 round includes financial investors Headline Asia, a Silicon Valley-based global venture capital firm, and Z Venture Capital Corporation, the corporate venture arm of Z Holdings – the merged entity of Yahoo Japan and LINE. New York Robotics launches as region’s startup count passes 160

February 3, 2026 by Sam Francis

New York Robotics has formally launched as a non-profit organisation, citing rapid growth in robotics startups, investment activity, and talent across New York City and the wider Tri-State region.

The group said its ecosystem now includes more than 160 robotics startups across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, with nearly 100 based in New York City alone. The figures underline the region’s growing role in robotics and embodied AI as the technology moves from research into commercial deployment.

New York Robotics said the scale of activity positions the region alongside established global robotics hubs such as Boston, Silicon Valley, Pittsburgh, Munich, Zurich, and Denmark. [Read more…] about New York Robotics launches as region’s startup count passes 160

Aneli Capital launches €35 million fund for high-growth robotics and tech startups in Europe

December 19, 2025 by David Edwards

A team of experts with over 15 years of experience in funding businesses has launched Aneli Capital, a fund to support early-stage startups in the Baltics, Poland, and other Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries.

The €35 million fund will primarily focus on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as well as robotics, space, photonics, and energy startups, with the goal of helping them grow and become ready for follow-on investors.

While CEE startups are gradually becoming more visible in the international startup scene, they still face issues such as a lack of funding and difficulties in scaling compared to their Western counterparts. Investors warn ‘AI hype is fueling a bubble in humanoid robotics’

December 17, 2025 by David Edwards

Many humanoid robotics companies backed by investors face fundamental challenges with cost and reliability that will not be solved any time soon, a report by CB Insights suggests. According to investors, venture capital companies especially now should embrace a revenue-first philosophy.

Recent major venture capital (VC) reports from KPMG and PitchBook confirm that AI remains in the lead, accounting for more than half of all investments this year.

Data from CB Insights shows that investors’ attention inside the AI market is shifting rapidly toward industrial humanoid robotics. As a result, investors argue the flood of AI capital is pushing robotics toward a speculative zone, with too many startups promising breakthroughs without commercial evidence.
