Kuka says its augmented reality ‘makes new robots easier to start up’

Kuka says its new Kuka.MixedReality software visualizes the environment of robot cells live on smartphones to “support fast, safe and intuitive robot start-up”.

The mobile app displays tools and interference geometries to enable early detection of potential hazards so users can eliminate them before a robot starts work.

ZenRobotics launches new waste recycling robots

ZenRobotics, a specialist in robotic recycling, has launched ZenRobotics 4.0, its fourth generation of waste sorting robots.

The company says the latest robots have new features and upgraded Artificial Intelligence to optimise and improve the efficiency of waste sorting operations.

Nauticus Robotics raises $12 million in new investment

Nauticus Robotics, a developer of subsea robots and software, has raised an additional $12 million as part of a second tranche of investment.

The new investment will expedite certification of Nauticus’ flagship robot, the Aquanaut, which facilitates the transformation of tethered ROV (remotely operated vehicle) operations to fully autonomous operations.

It is expected to perform numerous tasks in water depths ranging from 200 to 2,000+ meters during February in preparation for an inaugural job inspecting a deep-water production facility of a major oil and gas company in the Gulf of Mexico. Meltio and One Off Robotics collaborate to ‘push the limits of robotic additive manufacturing’

Meltio, a disruptive wire-laser metal deposition additive manufacturing technology leader, has agreed a technology collaboration with One Off Robotics, a specialist in robotic additive manufacturing.

The latest collaboration introduces the One Off Robotics Cell, a “turnkey metal additive manufacturing workcell” designed for a faster, more efficient, and reliable part production cycle.

The One Off Robotics Cell is a robotic metal additive system powered by Meltio’s Wire Laser Metal Deposition (W-LMD) technology. The system produces cost-effective, finely printed metal parts for applications in industries including automotive, aerospace, mining, oil and gas, and many others. Robotic delivery company Starship Technologies raises $90 million in new funding

Starship Technologies, the company making science fiction a reality by putting delivery robots on streets in the US and Europe, has raised $90 million in new funding, co-led by Plural and Iconical.

The fresh investment, which brings the total raised by Starship to $230 million since its creation in 2014, will be used to expand globally as Starship looks to take advantage of the unstoppable rise in demand for home deliveries.

Launched in 2014, Starship’s delivery robots have become a common sight on streets across Europe and the US and the company is now the world’s leading autonomous delivery service, making more than six million deliveries and transforming last-mile delivery. Industrial robot market expected to grow to $26 billion by 2033

The industrial robot market size is anticipated to surpass $5,282.40 million in 2023 and is likely to attain a valuation of $25,828.99 million by 2033. The industrial market share is projected to rise at a CAGR of 17.20 percent from 2023 to 2033.

Virtual Incision’s miniaturized surgical robot en route to International Space Station

Virtual Incision, the developer of the MIRA Surgical System, says that spaceMIRA is currently in transit to the International Space Station.

The device is aboard a Northrop Grumman Cygnus cargo spacecraft carried by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.

The 2024 technology demonstration mission is driven by a grant awarded from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to the University of Nebraska through the Established Program to Competitive Research (EPSCoR) program. Skyline Robotics raises $9.8 million funding to automate window cleaning

Skyline Robotics, developers of Ozmo, “the world’s first robotic-armed window cleaning robot”, has raised $9.8 million Pre-Series A-2 funding (including the conversion of SAFE Notes) round led by Standard Skyline with additional contributions from Durst Ventures, the venture capital investment arm of the Durst Organization, and HNW individuals.

To date, Skyline Robotics has raised $19.4 million. This latest round will support Ozmo’s expansion into NYC and London, grow the R&D team to bolster Ozmo’s service offerings, and formalize Skyline’s new construction line of business.

Robotic kitchen startup Aniai raises $12 million in ‘pre-funding’

Aniai, a fast-growing robotic company in “robotic” kitchen solutions, has secured a $12 million pre-Series A funding round.

Led by InterVest, one of the largest venture capital firms in South Korea, the round includes investments from new investors, such as SV Investment and UK-based Ignite Innovation, as well as from an existing investor, Capstone Partners.

Starship Technologies celebrates five years of autonomous robot deliveries at George Mason University

Starship Technologies, a provider of autonomous delivery services, and Sodexo, marked a series of milestones and exclusive giveaways to mark five years of autonomous robot deliveries at George Mason University (Mason).

Mason was the first university in the US to offer autonomous robot deliveries provided by Starship. Since the launch on January 22, 2019, Starship’s robots are now serving more than 1.1 million people across 50 US college campuses as well as in local neighborhoods in several other countries.

Mason Dining and Starship will be offering giveaways at select merchants throughout the week to celebrate the milestone. Lucky students will receive exclusive anniversary swag, Starship promo codes, Mason Dining merch, and more.
