Starship Technologies celebrates five years of autonomous robot deliveries at George Mason University

Starship Technologies, a provider of autonomous delivery services, and Sodexo, marked a series of milestones and exclusive giveaways to mark five years of autonomous robot deliveries at George Mason University (Mason).

Mason was the first university in the US to offer autonomous robot deliveries provided by Starship. Since the launch on January 22, 2019, Starship’s robots are now serving more than 1.1 million people across 50 US college campuses as well as in local neighborhoods in several other countries.

Mason Dining and Starship will be offering giveaways at select merchants throughout the week to celebrate the milestone. Lucky students will receive exclusive anniversary swag, Starship promo codes, Mason Dining merch, and more. Association for Advancing Automation celebrates 50th anniversary

The Association for Advancing Automation (A3), the world’s largest robotics and automation trade group, celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2024.

The global advocate for the benefits of automation now represents more than 1280 member companies as it promotes automation technologies and ideas that transform and redefine the business environment.

Jeff Burnstein, who joined A3 in 1983 and has served as president of the association since 2007, says: “The success of A3 for the past five decades is directly attributable to the unflagging support of our members, the incredible advances in automation technology, and the resilience and talent of the team we’ve assembled. Vitesco Technologies celebrates 25 years and its new ‘high degree of automation’

In the scenic setting of Frenštát pod Radhoštěm at the foot of the Beskid Mountains, the Vitesco Technologies site is celebrating its 25th anniversary as well as its “high degree of automation” which is enabling the company to produce advanced technologies more efficiently than ever before. 

In May 1995, the site started producing electronic components for the automotive industry, initially with 100 employees.

Today, the Czech site with its workforce of approximately 3,000 is one of the largest employers in the region and is also one of the largest electronics plants owned by Vitesco Technologies, the Powertrain Technologies group sector of Continental.
