RoboDK targets integrator sales demos with web version of robot simulation software

February 23, 2022 by David Edwards

A new web version the popular robot programming software RoboDK has just been released.

This simplified version needs no license and provides a portable, intuitive interface for sales representatives, new robot users, and educational uses.

Creating convincing sales demos of robotic solutions is not always easy. Robot integrators often use simulations to make it easier for clients to understand their solutions, but such simulations are not easily portable. RoboDK releases intuitive palletizing plugin for any robot brand

December 8, 2021 by Mark Allinson

Robot software company RoboDK has released a new palletizing plugin for intuitive programming of palletizing applications, compatible with almost any robot brand. It accelerates this normally tedious programming task and improves deployment efficiency.

Palletizing is an increasingly common application for robotic automation. For human workers, lifting containers onto pallets is dull and increases the risk of musculoskeletal injuries due to its repetitive nature.

Robots have long provided an alternative to manual palletizing. However, programming the task has traditionally been tedious. [Read more…] about RoboDK releases intuitive palletizing plugin for any robot brand

RoboDK and Wilder Systems unveil robotic ‘drive-through’ aircraft washing system

June 3, 2021 by David Edwards

Automation solutions provider Wilder Systems has developed a unique robotic “drive-through” washing system for aircraft. The system reduces the task time by 95 percent and eliminates manual washing.

By using the RoboDK programming software, aerospace manufacturers can program the task without previous robotic experience.

Regular washing is a critical task in aerospace manufacturing. It helps to reduce corrosion, improving the life and safety of the aircraft. However, manual washing is a dangerous and labor-intensive task. [Read more…] about RoboDK and Wilder Systems unveil robotic ‘drive-through’ aircraft washing system

RoboDK, DIY-Robotics, and ATI release a ‘plug-and-play’ cell for robotic deburring

February 25, 2021 by Sam Francis

Robot software company RoboDK has partnered with DIY-Robotics and ATI Industrial Automation to release a combined application bundle for robotic deburring. The plug-and-play modular Robotic Deburring Cell can be integrated in just a few days. (See video below.)

With manufacturing industries changing rapidly, companies are increasingly turning to robotic automation to stay competitive. However, robot deployments have traditionally taken weeks or even months.

In February 2021, robot software company RoboDK partnered with DIY-Robotics and ATI Industrial Automation to create a pre-engineered, modular solution for robotic deburring that reduces deployment time considerably. RoboDK unveils ‘handheld robot programming’ system

January 20, 2021 by Sam Francis

Robot software company RoboDK has released TwinTrack, a tool that allows users to program any industrial robot quickly and easily by tracing the desired motion with a handheld probe. (See video below.)

As robots move into the hands of less experienced users, there is a growing need for more intuitive programming interfaces that are accessible to everyone. In January 2021, Montreal-based robot software company RoboDK released a new type of flexible, affordable programming tool.

TwinTrack is a combined solution that allows users to program any industrial robot with a laser tracker and its handheld probe. [Read more…] about RoboDK unveils ‘handheld robot programming’ system

‘Robots are revolutionizing the visual arts’, says RoboDK boss

March 13, 2020 by Sam Francis

“Robots are revolutionizing the visual arts by providing artists with new creative techniques,” says Albert Nubiola, CEO of robot simulation and programming software firm RoboDK.

Nubiola makes his comments as an exhibition of robot-made paintings opens in the prestigious Ben Brown Fine Arts gallery, London.

Conceived by digital arts pioneers Rob and Nick Carter, the ingenious “Dark Factory Portraits” exhibition features an industrial robot arm from Kuka – dubbed “Heidi”, by the artists – that produces fine art portraits of famous artists in acrylics. RoboDK celebrates five years of robot virtualisation software

February 22, 2020 by Sam Francis

Founded by Albert Nubiola and Lauren Ierullo in January 2015, RoboDK is a spin-off company from the CoRo laboratory at ETS University in Montreal, Canada, one of the most prestigious robotics labs in North America.

While working on his PhD at CoRo lab, RoboDK’s CEO Albert Nubiola was the main developer of RoKiSim, a multi-platform educational software tool for 3D simulation of serial six-axis robots.

RoboDK software is the extended commercial version of RoKiSim and is designed to bring powerful robotics simulation and programming capabilities to companies large and small and to coders and non-coders alike. [Read more…] about RoboDK celebrates five years of robot virtualisation software

Offline programming software for industrial robots from RoboDK offers hundreds of virtual industrial robots from top robotics companies

July 14, 2015 by Abdul Montaqim

  • Offline industrial robot programming software, RoboDK, now has hundreds of virtual robots from all the leading industrial robot manufacturers, including ABB, Fanuc, and Kuka
  • RoboDK’s online library has more than 200 industrial robots, tools and external axes, which can be accessed directly from within the cross-platform application
  • Albert Nubiola, founder and CEO of RoboDK, talks to RoboticsandAutomationNews.com about offline programming and how RoboDK can play an increasingly important role in a market where other solutions can prove far more expensive

Offline programming software for industrial robots

Offline programming for industrial robots seems like such a logical method of managing industrial robots that it’s difficult to find a good enough reason to do it any other way. Offline programming for industrial robots, mostly in the form of industrial robot simulation software, is a relatively new development in industrial robotics but it has been gaining popularity over the past few years.

However, offline programming software for industrial robots is still not as widespread as perhaps one would expect it to be. The majority of robots were programmed using the teach pendant method. A teach pendant, also known as a “teach box”, is a hand-held device often attached to the robot which has numerous buttons and a screen with which to program the robot, usually on-site, requiring the robot to be isolated from the production line and not do any work.
