Infineon launches humanoid robotics-focused startup challenge for 2026

Infineon’s Startup Challenge brings together promising founder teams and young high-tech companies from across the globe to work jointly on a highly relevant topic: humanoid robotics.

The Challenge is a structured innovation program designed to develop technological concepts into market-ready applications. It is part of Infineon’s global Co‑Innovation Program, in which Infineon drives innovation together with startups as a technology and development partner.

Neura Robotics and TUM launch €17 million RoboGym to train humanoid robots for physical AI

Neura Robotics, in collaboration with the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), is launching Europe’s largest training center for Physical AI: the TUM RoboGym (powered by Neura).

The partners are starting with 2,300 m², with plans to expand the space in the near future. Located at the TUM Convergence Center at Munich Airport, a large fleet of humanoid robots will begin training under real-world conditions from mid-2026 onward, marking a major milestone for scaling intelligent machines and strengthening Europe’s technological sovereignty.

Xpeng presents ‘Iron’ humanoid robot at automaker’s AI Day

XPeng has showcased the latest version of its humanoid robot, known as “Iron”, during its 2025 AI Day event in China, signalling the company’s growing ambition beyond electric vehicles and into advanced robotics.

CnEVPost, a China-based website covering the country’s electric vehicle and technology industries, first reported XPeng’s live demonstration and claims made during the presentation.

XPeng describes Iron as a key part of its long-term “AI mobility” strategy, which spans vehicles, flying cars, and humanoid robots.

Global robotics market set to more than double to ‘$205.5 billion by 2030’

The global robotics industry is forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15 percent from $90.2 billion in 2024 to $205.5 billion in 2030, according to GlobalData, a data and analytics company.

One of the key reasons for this growth is that the robotics industry offers a “variety of applications” for a wide range of industries.
