Summer season: outdoor furniture that you can’t do without and the materials it is made of

August 2, 2023 by David Edwards

A country house and its territory have long ceased to be a place for planting cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, and beets. Today, it is becoming a place of rest from the hustle and bustle.

This is a place where you can have a great weekend and just sunbathe in a lounge away from the big city. It is important to choose high-quality outdoor furniture from a reliable supplier, such as Parasols. This is an assurance that it is durable and environmentally friendly.

SGS introduces ‘cutting-edge testing protocol’ for robots checking furniture drawer slides

March 29, 2023 by Mark Allinson

SGS, a testing, inspection and certification company, has launched a new advanced slide test protocol that uses “PROF” – short for “SGS Performance Factory” – to assess the performance and durability of furniture drawers.

The PROF furniture drawer slide test protocol accurately simulates real consumer use and misuse to measure and map the evolution of opening force, damping force and drawer face position when operating. It can also compare the impact of drawer use on the right and left sides and be used to contrast different brands and designs.

This protocol has several key advantages for consumers, manufacturers and brands. Its high-quality, trusted and impartial data supports performance and durability claims, enabling consumers to make better-informed purchasing decisions. It also empowers better commercial decisions concerning design improvements and product selection. Do we really need a professional translator for instruction manuals?

October 22, 2020 by Polly

Whether we like it or not, it is a well-established fact that we need instruction manuals. Indeed, in some instances it may be a legal requirement for the manufacturer of the product to supply one.

In fact, numerous directives in Europe, the US and much of the rest of the world make it compulsory to provide information, most often in the form of an instruction manual. [Read more…] about Do we really need a professional translator for instruction manuals?

New tools of the trade: Can robots revive craftsmanship in furniture making?

August 27, 2020 by Mai Tao

Although technically the opportunity has been available for many years, the level of automation in the furniture-making industry is a relatively low, if you consider robotic and autonomous types of automation as used by Moduform, for example.

Of course, basic automation technology of the type represented by electric saws, routers, drills and so on are widespread – not many people use hand drills nowadays. But if we put those kind of power tools aside in the “electrification” category, with no autonomous functionalities, then we can say there’s not really much automation in furniture-making.

It’s not going to be like that forever, in large part because of the emergence of collaborative robots, which, as readers of this website will know, are robots which are smaller, lighter and specifically designed and certified to be used directly by a human worker.
