Senseye partners with Fanuc on its ‘Field’ IIoT platform

September 26, 2019 by David Edwards

Senseye, an industrial software company that specialises in vision systems, says its Senseye PdM technology suite will be made available through Fanuc’s “Field” industrial internet of things platform when it launches in Europe later this year.

FIELD stands for “Fanuc Intelligent Edge Link and Drive” system, and is basically a system for monitoring and managing Fanuc robots and devices through a computer network, enabling artificial intelligence to be applied across an entire operation to find efficiencies and productivity gains.

Senseye provides a range of technologies and methodologies that are used globally by Fortune 500 industrial organisations as part of digital transformation initiatives to improve the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing and maintenance operations. Fanuc to demonstrate cobots and automation technology at Westec 2019

August 7, 2019 by Anna

Fanuc America, supplier of robotics, CNCs and robomachines will demonstrate robotic and automation solutions for the aerospace, medical, industrial machinery and consumer goods industries at Westec 2019, 24-26 September in Long Beach, California, USA.

It will show the Fanuc CR-15iA collaborative robot, which uses iRVision to locate a part and then loads it into a chuck to simulate machining. The robot unloads the part and the cycle repeats.

Fanuc’s CR-7iA collaborative robot will demonstrate a variety of pre-programmed movements. Visitors will be able to use the hand-guidance mode, which allows them to instruct the robot to perform different movements and record paths.

Fanuc showcases ‘Zero Down Time’ IIoT solution

April 19, 2019 by Anna

Fanuc America demonstrated its Zero Down Time (ZDT) Industrial IoT solution at Automate 2019 .

The company’s augmented reality (AR) experience featured manufacturing situations where ZDT could help. The experience included six common manufacturing challenges printed on two graphic display panels that simulated manufacturing facilities.

ZDT’s predictive analytics have already saved millions of dollars by preventing unexpected down time in the automotive industry, says the company.

In addition to reducing unexpected down time, ZDT allows users to maximise production throughput, optimise maintenance costs, increase the life of their robots, and access data from anywhere via the ZDT web portal.

Since its introduction in 2015, ZDT analytics have successfully identified potential equipment issues, and notified customers to take corrective actions and avoid unexpected down time in over 600 cases, saving companies more than $75 million, adds the company.

“The value of ZDT applies to every manufacturer,” said Joe Gazzarato, director of engineering, ZDT Product Development, Fanuc America.

“No matter what industry you’re in, the prospect of maintaining consistent production uptime and reducing costs equates to a competitive advantage – which is what ZDT offers our customers.”
