An Aluminum Waterproof Box: A Simple Invention That Changes Industries

December 21, 2021 by Mai Tao

When planning a project, you should think about the smallest details. One tiny neglect may cost you a lot of effort and money. An important thing to think about is protection.

Whether you’re fashioning an environment monitoring tool or a piece of security equipment, its enclosure determines its durability.

How to protect electronics from harsh weather conditions, moisture, UV exposure, temperatures? [Read more…] about An Aluminum Waterproof Box: A Simple Invention That Changes Industries

Scientists research ‘matter waves’ to shine light on post electronics future

August 23, 2021 by David Edwards

Most modern technologies owe their success to advances in electronics. These devices harness the flow of electrons in different ways to create computers, charge batteries, light-up displays, and move motors.

Now researchers are starting to explore ways to harness the flow of waves of whole atoms, called matter waves, to enable new kinds of sensors, computers, and scientific research.

This new field has been named atomtronics, owing to the focus on finding ways to move whole atoms rather than electrons in traditional electronics devices. [Read more…] about Scientists research ‘matter waves’ to shine light on post electronics future

New electronic skin developed to make robots ‘feel pain’

September 4, 2020 by David Edwards

Scientists at the RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia have developed a new type of “electronic skin” that could make robots and other machines more sensitive to touch and contact.

The researchers say their “pain-sensing” prototype mimics the human body’s near-instant feedback response and reacts to painful sensations with the same lighting speed that nerve signals travel to the brain.

Lead researcher Professor Madhu Bhaskaran says the prototype e-skin is a “significant advance” towards next-generation biomedical technologies and intelligent robotics. [Read more…] about New electronic skin developed to make robots ‘feel pain’
