Lomar and Alicia Bots partner to develop robotic system for cleaning ship hulls

October 11, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Lomar, a ship-owning and management group, and Alicia Bots, a tech start-up developing robotics and mobility solutions for the maritime, offshore, oil and gas industries, are partnering to develop a robotic system for ship hull maintenance.

The companies say this effort both integrates cutting-edge robotic hull inspection and cleaning solutions into Lomar’s biofouling control practices as well as tests new use cases, marking a “significant leap forward” in the maritime industry’s pursuit of efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Lomar is to implement Alicia Bots’ robotic technology on up to 15 of its vessels. The autonomous hull cleaning technology provides a “viable reduction” in hull fouling, reducing fuel consumption, costs, and carbon emissions, says Lomar. LionsBot launches ‘world’s first Zero Click cleaning robots’

July 8, 2023 by Mai Tao

LionsBot International, which says its cleaning robots are in operation in more than 30 countries, has unveiled three new products – the R3 Vac, R3 Scrub Pro and the MagicTag.

The company says the new products “revolutionise autonomous professional cleaning”. Both the R3 Vac and R3 Scrub Pro are professional-grade vacuuming and scrubbing robots respectively, while the MagicTag enables both LionsBots to become “Zero Click” and very easy to use.

Currently, there is a global shortage of professional cleaners. However, most professional cleaning robots still require users to undergo extensive training before using the robot. Coupled with the high turnover rate experienced in the cleaning industry, this is not practical. [Read more…] about LionsBot launches ‘world’s first Zero Click cleaning robots’

What Makes Robot Vacuums A Must-Have Home Appliance?

June 20, 2023 by David Edwards

A robot vacuum is a convenient smart cleaning device that saves you a lot of time. While some might argue that it’s more of a luxury rather than a necessity, there are certain features that make robot vacuums a must-have for your home.

These features are things that you simply won’t get with a traditional vacuum.

Apart from the obvious convenience that comes from automating the cleaning process, robot vacuums offer excellent versatility, integration with smart homes, and pet-friendly features. [Read more…] about What Makes Robot Vacuums A Must-Have Home Appliance?

The Future of Solar Panel Cleaning: Robots vs Humans

April 27, 2023 by Mark Allinson

One of the advantages of solar systems is their minimal maintenance.

This is true, there are no moving parts in the panels that can fail due to friction, they do not wear out, so they can serve for a long time without loss of efficiency.

But often users notice that performance has started to drop. Some even call specialists, believing that something is wrong with the batteries. There’s something wrong with them, they are just dirty.

Solar systems need constant care. It is necessary to clean the surface of the panels at least 2 times a year – in spring and autumn, but it is better to do this more often. [Read more…] about The Future of Solar Panel Cleaning: Robots vs Humans

Avidbots releases first floorscrubbing robot built for industrial spaces

April 24, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Avidbots, a robotics company, has launched its first cleaning robot, Neo 2W, describing it as having been “designed specifically for warehouses and manufacturing environments to improve cleaning quality, efficiency and productivity”.

Warehouses and factories present unique and challenging environments for robots, given floor debris, dynamic activity, and frequent layout changes.

In collaboration with industrial customers, Avidbots developed Neo 2W to alleviate common issues, resulting in a more consistent clean with less downtime and unnecessary human intervention. [Read more…] about Avidbots releases first floorscrubbing robot built for industrial spaces

Fuzzy Logic Robotics and Visionic partner to automate cleaning of complex parts in aeronautics

April 19, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Visionic designs off-the-shelf optical guidance and control solutions for complex industrial manufacturing processes. As an integrator, they aim for constant improvement of industrial performance.

Fuzzy Logic Robotics, with its no-code software that allows non-experts to create, simulate and control a robot cell in real time, aims to democratize industrial robotics.

Together, Fuzzy Logic and Visionic are removing the technological and financial obstacles to the robotization of applications that were previously unheard of, or perceived as impossible, such as pressure cleaning and the decontamination of engine parts in the aeronautics industry. The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Best iPhone Cleaner App

April 17, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Mobile phones keep us connected, informed, and entertained, making them crucial tools for everyday use. The emergence of newer and better models has made owning a new phone an enticing prospect.

However, with time, our once lightning-fast devices become dreadfully sluggish. This is where App Store cleaning apps come in, designed to provide a performance boost to your device.

While the use of these apps is widespread among Android users, iPhone users seem to overlook their importance. Despite the superior performance of an iPhone, its performance can also suffer due to remnant background files. [Read more…] about The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Best iPhone Cleaner App

Czech retailer’s robots clean 20 million square metres

April 8, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Albert, said to be one of the Czech Republic’s largest retail brands, says its fleet of autonomous mobile robots have officially cleaned over 20 million square metres (215 million square feet), completing over 92,000 cleaning routes.

The industrial cleaning robots were implemented across Albert’s Czech Republic hypermarkets and two distribution centres. During 2023, Albert says it will “almost double” the number of stores with robot deployments for the robots.

Albert, an Ahold Delhaize local brand, released the figure in partnership with Brain Corp and Tennant Co, who supply and develop the robots and software. [Read more…] about Czech retailer’s robots clean 20 million square metres

4Ocean robot cleans up Florida beach as part of startup’s mission to clean up the world’s oceans

February 8, 2023 by Mark Allinson

A robot built by 4Ocean is cleaning up Florida beach as part of the startup company’s mission to clean up the entire world’s oceans.

An ambitious mission for sure, and one for which the company admits “there is no playbook”, but 4Ocean has already collected 28 million pounds of trash from the plastic-polluted salty waters of the world and its program is just getting started.

The robot 4Ocean has supplied to Florida beach is called the BeBot, which collects things like cigarette butts, pieces of plastic and other trash, according to a report on the Fox Weather website.
