Perks of De-Fi and how it will impact the world

May 5, 2023 by Mark Allinson Leave a Comment

As we move into a cashless society, the need to keep track of transactions and assets across multiple jurisdictions increases. Financing solutions in both the private and public sectors provide options to meet the evolving needs of these industries.

The world of finance is not slowing down – rather, it is accelerating faster than ever. It is partly due to the inherent need to comply with more regulations and the evolution of new business models.

These changes require a deep understanding of the global financial landscape and ecosystem development that enables seamless integration and operations. [Read more…] about Perks of De-Fi and how it will impact the world

Geek+ launches RoboShuttle Plus to compete with AutoStore

February 8, 2023 by Mai Tao Leave a Comment

Geek+, a provider of mobile logistics robots, has released its latest solution, RoboShuttle Plus, which looks similar to, and may compete with, the AutoStore system.

Geek+ says its new RoboShuttle Plus system achieves one-stop storage and picking of all types of goods and delivers higher throughput and flexibility, adding that “this marks a significant advance in the interoperability of Geek+’s various robot models and a stride towards full warehouse automation”.

The upgraded solution fills the market gap for an all-in-one picking solution by coordinating of three types of robots around one centralized workstation: RoboShuttles handle vertical storage and retrieval of totes, P40 picking robots move smaller items, and P500 and P800 robots move medium to large items. The big AMR fleet computing debate: Distributed vs centralized

February 24, 2022 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

By Limor Schweitzer, CTO and founder, MOV.AI

A shift in mobile robot computing needs

Over the past year, we have seen the growing adoption of centralized computing in Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) fleets. In this article, we ask if this trend is the best approach, especially in advanced deployments with a large number of AMRs and dynamic, non-sterile environments.

Past generations of AMRs, or more accurately Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), operated in sterile environments, with physically marked fixed routes and simple, predefined tasks. The computing requirements were almost nonexistent. [Read more…] about The big AMR fleet computing debate: Distributed vs centralized

Scurrying cockroaches help researchers steady staggering robots

August 23, 2019 by David Edwards

Ew, a cockroach! But it zips off before the swatter appears. Now, researchers have leveraged the bug’s superb scurrying skills to create a cleverly simple method to assess and improve locomotion in robots.

Normally, tedious modeling of mechanics, electronics, and information science is required to understand how insects’ or robots’ moving parts coordinate smoothly to take them places.

But in a new study, biomechanics researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology boiled down the sprints of cockroaches to handy principles and equations they then used to make a test robot amble about better. [Read more…] about Scurrying cockroaches help researchers steady staggering robots
