ABB and LandingAI unleash the power of generative AI for robotic vision

ABB Robotics has invested in California-based LandingAI to accelerate the transformation of vision AI, making it faster, more intuitive, and accessible to a broader range of users.

This first of its kind collaboration will integrate LandingAI’s vision AI capabilities, like LandingLens, into ABB Robotics’ own software suite, marking another milestone in ABB’s journey towards truly autonomous and versatile robots.

Regal Rexnord partners with ABB for ‘seamless integration of cobot seventh axes’

Regal Rexnord has joined forces with automation giant ABB Robotics to simplify integration of its GoFa cobots into 7th Axis Cobot Transfer Units (CTUs) from Thomson, one of Regal Rexnord’s linear motion brands.

This collaboration makes the Thomson Movotrak CTU the first cobot 7th axis technology that ABB Robotics has certified for use in its partner ecosystem.

ABB and Cosmic use AI-powered robots to rebuild Los Angeles homes destroyed by wildfires

ABB Robotics says it is “enabling faster, safer and more cost-effective rebuilding” in areas devastated by the 2025 Southern Californian wildfires through a collaboration with Cosmic Buildings, a construction technology company that uses proprietary mobile robotic microfactories. Cosmic claims its method is “the world’s fastest way to build beautiful custom homes”.

After the wildfires burned thousands of acres, destroying homes, infrastructure, and natural habitats, this pioneering initiative will deploy the microfactory in Pacific Palisades, California, to build modular structures onsite, offering a glimpse into the future of affordable housing construction.

ABB evolves IRB 1200 small robot family, with ‘greater speed, precision and choice’

ABB Robotics’ IRB 1200 high performance small robot family is evolving into a new generation that is faster and more precise, improving productivity and efficiency for a wide range of applications, says the company.

ABB introduces most compact, AI-powered AMR for payloads up to 1500 kg

ABB says it is “extending its leadership in AI-powered autonomous mobile robotics” with the launch of the Flexley Mover P603 platform AMR, the most compact model in its class to handle payloads of up to 1500 kg.

Designed to boost intralogistics efficiency, the P603 combines compact design with AI-driven Visual SLAM navigation and the latest version of AMR Studio software that maximizes flexibility by enabling different modules to be integrated into the AMR.

ABB expands large industrial robot portfolio

ABB Robotics to develop collaborative robot solutions for healthcare

ABB is to introduce collaborative robots to medical laboratories as it opens a new healthcare hub at the Texas Medical Center (TMC) innovation campus in Houston, Texas.

The facility will be ABB’s first dedicated healthcare research centre when it opens in October 2019.

ABB’s research team will work on the TMC campus with medical staff, scientists and engineers to develop non-surgical medical robotics systems, including logistics and next-generation automated laboratory technologies.

ABB unveils newest product in the YuMi industrial robot range – this one has a single arm

ABB Robotics has unveiled a new single-arm collaborative robot at the International Robotics Exhibition (iREX) 2017 in Tokyo.

The company says it is building on the success of YuMi, the dual-arm industrial robot which ABB describes as “the world’s first truly collaborative”.
