Diligent Robotics appoints former Cruise executives as CTO and COO

Diligent Robotics, developers of AI-native humanoid robots, have appointed two former Cruise executives to its leadership team: Rashed Haq as chief technology officer (CTO) and Todd Brugger as chief operating officer (COO).

With deep technical and commercial go-to-market expertise in autonomous vehicles and AI, the pair will help fuel the company’s next phase of growth as it gears up for expansion beyond its initial application of US hospital logistics.

Haq most recently served as Cruise’s VP, head of AI and Robotics, where he built the foundation of end-to-end autonomy for self-driving vehicles and helped scale Cruise to 5+ million miles of fully driverless vehicles in 5+ cities. Mendaera receives FDA clearance for handheld robotic system for ultrasound-guided needle placement

Mendaera, a healthcare technology company focused on developing robotics that can be deployed universally in medicine, has received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for its handheld robotic system, Focalist.

The novel system is designed to simplify and enhance the precision of ultrasound-guided needle placement – a technically demanding procedure performed across many specialties and care settings. The company is commencing a limited launch with select medical institutions with an initial focus in urology.

Image-guided procedures involving the placement of needles or other common interventional instruments are a cornerstone of medical care, used in hundreds of millions of patient encounters globally each year. COBOD unveils ‘multifunctional construction robot’ made with TU Braunschweig

3D construction printing specialist COBOD International has introduced the first commercially available multifunctional construction robot, in collaboration with the Technische Universität Braunschweig.

Built on COBOD’s 3D construction printing technology, the jointly developed system by COBOD and Institute for Structural Design (ITE) integrates a telescopic vertical extension unit with a robotic arm that enables the Shotcrete 3D Printing Process (SC3DP).

Kawasaki develops nurse assistant robot with Foxconn

Kawasaki Heavy Industries has co-developed nurse assistant robot “Nurabot” through a strategic partnership with Foxconn, the world’s largest electronics manufacturing services company from Taiwan. 

Aiming for market launch in FY2026, they have been conducting verification experiments since April 2025 at the Taichung Veterans General Hospital, a national hospital in Taiwan.

Swiss sportswear brand On opens ‘world’s first’ robotic LightSpray shoe production facility in Zurich

Swiss sportswear brand On has officially launched the world’s first fully automated production facility using its proprietary LightSpray technology.

Located at the company’s headquarters in Zurich, the new factory brings advanced robotic manufacturing of performance running shoes back to Switzerland.

The LightSpray Factory, unveiled in a ceremony attended by 100 VIPs across business, science, sports, and media, houses four industrial robots capable of producing ultra-light shoe uppers in a single automated process. Galbot raises $151 million to scale embodied AI humanoid robots, partners with Bosch investment arm

Chinese robotics startup Galaxy General Robot Co. – also known as Galbot – has raised $151 million in a funding round led by battery giant CATL and Puquan Capital, bringing its total investment to more than $330 million since its founding in 2023.

The company also announced a strategic joint venture with Boyuan Capital, the investment arm of Bosch Group, to accelerate the global commercialization of embodied AI robots.

Founded by Professor He Wang of Peking University – a Stanford-trained scientist – Galbot specializes in embodied artificial intelligence, which enables robots to perceive and interact with the physical world in a more human-like manner. The company’s technology has applications in retail, automotive, and industrial sectors. Exotec expands in Spain through projects with six new customers

Exotec by Dexter, a specialist in intralogistics automation using scalable robotics, has significantly expanded its portfolio in Spain, implementing its Skypod system in warehouses at six large national and international companies in 2025.

Spain is one of the fastest-growing European markets in warehouse automation, with logistics investments rising by 11.2 percent in 2024.
