Fanuc limits sales as it struggles to deal with too many orders

Fanuc is struggling to cope with the number of orders it is receiving so it is placing some limits on sales, according to a report on Nikkei. 

The world’s largest robot maker is benefitting from the rapid growth in demand for robotics in automation systems worldwide, especially in China.

Mitsubishi launches new computer numerical controller

Mitsubishi Electric Automation has launched the new M80W computer numerical controller, the latest in its industry-proven M8 Series computer numerical controllers.

The M80W features a touch-screen Windows-based display that is separate from the control unit, which the company says provides “expandability and flexibility”.

The M80W includes two expansion slots for 32GB SD cards, and incorporates the latest operating system and slim personal computer. Denso started out as a division of Toyota, which is the world’s largest automotive manufacturer, according to some statistics.

By revenue, Toyota is actually the fifth-largest company in the world, ahead of competitors such as Volkswagen, Daimler, and General Motors.

Denso Robotics reveals it has 95,000 industrial robots installed worldwide

Denso Robotics now has almost 100,000 industrial robots installed worldwide, which means it overtakes Kuka on the Robotics and Automation News list of top industrial robot manufacturers in the world. 

The company – which is the main robotics and automation systems supplier to automotive giant Toyota – overtakes Kuka, and is now just 5,000 short of Nachi-Fujikoshi.

Yamaha to develop remote management systems for industrial robots

Yamaha is bringing together different parts of its global business in an effort to develop remote management system packages for industrial robots.  

Yamaha Motor and Yamaha Corporation say they have utilized the technology and experience of both to develop the packages, which are scheduled to be released in fiscal 2018.

Universal Robots and ARC Specialties launch MIG welding system at FabTech

Universal Robots and ARC Specialties have launched their MIG welding system at FabTech 2017 in Chicago.

The companies say SnapWeld Collaborative Robotic Welding features “seamless hardware and software integration” through the Universal Robots+ product platform.

Yaskawa breaks ground to build Slovenia factory

Yaskawa has broken ground to mark the start of the construction of a new factory in Slovenia, in Europe. 

The company will spend almost $30 million in building the new facility in Kocevje.

Yokogawa Electric launches new industrial automation and control solution

Yokogawa Electric, a Japanese industrial equipment company with about $3.5 billion revenue a year, has launched a new automation and control solution.

Yokogawa says its new Synaptic Business Automation system is a new industrial automation and control business concept that “expresses the company’s commitment to working with its customers to sustain their creation of corporate value”.

Lincoln Electric to expand automation manufacturing capabilities

Lincoln Electric says it is planning to expand its automation manufacturing capabilities, with the enlargement of its facility at Wayne Trail, Ohio.

The Wayne Trail plant specialises in automated manufacturing solutions for metal forming, fabricating and metal joining processes.

Kuka wins ‘major’ contracts worth $75 million from US automotive manufacturer

Kuka Systems has received three major new systems contracts from “a leading manufacturer of premium vehicles in the US”, according to the company.

The projects comprise the engineering and construction of systems to build vehicles body structures in the USA and Mexico, says Kuka.
