Hanwha demonstrates CNC machine tending using collaborative robot

Hanwha Robotics has demonstrated a CNC machine tending solution using its HCR-5 collaborative robot. 

The company says the demand for collaborative robot solutions is increasing because such solutions enable the operator to reduce waiting times during the process.

Finger Lakes college partners with New Scale Robotics to develop collaborative robot tools

Finger Lakes Community College has been awarded a $50,000 manufacturing grant from the FuzeHub Innovation Fund to support its work with New Scale Robotics, accelerating development of New Scale’s precision measurement and gripping tools for a wide range of collaborative robots.

New Scale has a line of precision grippers, calipers and other tools that install in minutes on cobots from Universal Robots.

New Scale will collaborate with Dr Sam Samanta, head of the Instrumentation and Controls program at FLCC, and his students to develop a Smart Platform that expands plug-and-play compatibility of New Scale Robotics tools to multiple additional cobot brands. Universal Robots powers three new welding tools at FabTech

The welding automation industry is increasingly implementing collaborative robot arms from Universal Robots.

This year’s FabTech Expo features several UR cobot powered path-processing solutions:

  • BotX Welder by Hirebotics;
  • Red-D-Arc and Airgas;
  • Vectis Automation’s Cobot Welding Tool; and
  • SnapCut by ARC Specialties.

Stäubli launches new range of collaborative robots

Stäubli has released a line of five new collaborative robots based on the TX2 industrial robots, claiming they are the “world’s safest, most collaborative cobots”.

The company says the new cobots “offer exceptional productivity and the safest man–machine collaboration on the market”.

Rethink Robotics launches Sawyer Black Edition

Rethink Robotics, which is now part of the Hahn Group, has launched a new version of its collaborative robot, Sawyer.

The Sawyer Black Edition is now available for pre-order and will be presented for the first time at K 2019 in Düsseldorf.

SICK has been showcasing its robotic area protection system, saying that the technology makes collaborative robot safety simple.

The Safe Robotics Area Protection (SRAP) safety system from SICK provides process-based protection for collaborative robot applications.

Epson Robots to launch new parts feeding solution at Assembly Show

Epson Robots will demonstrate its latest robots that benefit a wide variety of parts assembly applications at the upcoming Assembly Show event.

The company will also announce an IntelliFlex Feeding System line expansion with a new feeder size that can accommodate part sizes between 30-150 mm.

BWIndustrie installs world’s first UR16e collaborative robot to optimise throughput

Universal Robots says that BWIndustrie, a French specialist in machining, assembly and robotics, has installed the world’s first UR16e heavy-duty payload collaborative robot.

It becomes the company’s sixth cobot from UR, where it is streamlining the time-consuming and labour-intensive process of deburring metal parts.

Launched at China International Industy Fair to wide acclaim, the UR16e enables BWIndustrie to overcome the barriers of traditional manufacturing by automating the deburring processes in a matter of seconds compared to the several minutes incurred by manual labour.
