DAB Pumps digitalises with Siemens MOM

November 26, 2018 by Anna

Siemens has announced that DAB Pumps has selected the Siemens PLM Software Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) portfolio as part of its digitisation strategy.

Siemens’ MOM portfolio integrates the digital threads of product lifecycle management (PLM) with automation and ERP, breaking down the traditional data silos and allowing a two-way flow of communication.

Through the latest generation of Siemens PLM Software’s MOM solution, DAB Pumps can access Siemens PLM Software’s industry-specific best practices.

Siemens launches additive manufacturing process simulation solution

November 19, 2018 by Anna

Siemens has announced a new additive manufacturing (AM) process simulation solution for predicting distortion during 3D printing.

The product is fully integrated into Siemens’ end-to-end AM solution, which assists manufacturers in designing and printing parts at scale.

Building on Siemens’ comprehensive digital innovation platform and the Simcenter portfolio, the AM Process Simulation solution uses a digital twin to simulate the build process prior to printing, anticipating distortion within the printing process and automatically generating the corrected geometry to compensate for these distortions.

Siemens’ Teamcenter now supports eCl@ss Standard to streamline data exchange

October 31, 2018 by Anna

Siemens has announced that the Teamcenter portfolio, the world’s most widely used product lifecycle management software, will now support the eCl@ss Standard for classification and product description.

eCl@ss has established itself internationally over 18 years as the only ISO/IEC-compliant industry standard, and has become the worldwide reference-data standard for the classification and unambiguous description of products and services.

Supporting a standard classification system can allow Teamcenter users to standardise design, procurement, storage, production, and distribution activities in and between companies – across sectors, countries and languages.

Siemens has closed the acquisition of Mendix, eight weeks after the transaction was announced as part of the company’s Vision 2020+ strategy.

As enterprises invest to digitalise their operations, demand for business applications is growing significantly faster than the capacity of IT organisations to deliver them.

This gap between business demand for smart applications and lack of adequate developer talent has created unprecedented demand for low-code, high productivity platforms.
