Flexiv partners with Handplus Robotics to offer new robotic solutions

Flexiv, a maker of “general-purpose” robotics solutions, has formed a partnership with Handplus Robotics, a Singaporean-based automation integration company.

Established in 2018, Handplus has extensive experience in automating logistics and manufacturing lines, making them the ideal partner to install and commission Flexiv’s range of seven-axis force-controlled robots.

GreyOrange launches GreyMatter open API to manage variety of robotic systems

GreyOrange, a provider of automated robotic fulfillment and inventory optimization software, has launched its GreyMatter open API (application programming interface). 

The API enables any vendor’s robotic solution to seamlessly connect to the GreyMatter fulfillment orchestration platform, giving customers the freedom to choose the technology that fits their warehouse environment.

Nauticus Robotics expands into Europe with operating bases in Norway and the UK

Nauticus Robotics, a Houston-based developer of ocean robots, autonomy software, and services to the marine industries, has launched operations in Norway and the United Kingdom, beginning the company’s international expansion strategy for 2023 and beyond.

The operating bases are strategically located in Stavanger, Norway and Aberdeen, Scotland to service the North Sea offshore market.

The company will deploy assets and collaborate with local partners to service the region’s extensive offshore wind and oil and gas assets with its expanding Nauticus Fleet, a robotic navy of surface and subsea robots. AutoStore launches new robotic system for warehouses

AutoStore, a warehouse automation company, has launched Pio, short for “Product In/Out”, which is basically an automated storage and retrieval system, or ASRS.

The company describes it as a “plug-and-play version” of its AutoStore cube storage technology tailored.

Pio has been specially designed for small and medium-sized businesses.

Based on a pay-per-pick service model, Pio allows SMBs, such as retailers of apparel, sporting goods, crafts, and cosmetics, to deploy robotic automation for a relatively low investment – enabling more businesses to gain access to the world’s best automation technology. Aerones raises $30 million to develop wind turbine maintenance robot

Aerones, a Latvia-based company specializing in robot-enabled wind turbine maintenance and inspection, has secured $30 million in growth capital to scale its business globally.

The capital will be used to help the Company meet surging demand in a market which is expected to reach $50 billion in value by 2028.

Sarcos Robotics and Changi Airport test outdoor robotic baggage handling system

Sarcos Technology and Robotics, a manufacturer of advanced robotic systems, and Changi Airport has completed a demonstration of a jointly developed outdoor-based autonomous baggage loading system prototype.

In collaboration with CAG, Sarcos is developing an outdoor-based baggage loading system to automate the loading and unloading of loose passenger bags from narrow-bodied aircraft.

The inaugural field demonstrations were conducted during September 2022 at Singapore Changi Airport and validated the opportunity for robotics to reduce the risk of on-the-job injuries from baggage handling and augment the ground handling labor force. Formic makes robotics available to hire ‘by the hour’

Formic, a startup robotics-as-a-service company, has introduced Formic Flex, which it describes as “a unique service offering that recognizes the shifting needs and changing requirements that manufacturers face”.

Formic Flex enables manufacturers to subscribe to robotic systems “by the hour” and when their needs shift, swap those systems for other systems at no cost.

Allowing manufacturers to boost their productivity without being tied to specific equipment, Formic Flex applies to selected and certified robotic tenders across various applications, such as machine tending, welding, palletizing, depalletizing, and case packing. ABB RobotStudio takes to the cloud, enabling real-time collaboration
