How to Inspect a Car Before You Buy it

December 23, 2022 by Mark Allinson

When you use an online car auction site like SCA, you may be wondering if you can inspect the auto auction vehicles before you bid on them. Because they are online auto auctions, you have the benefit of direct access to auto auctions all over the United States, but that can make inspecting the cars before buying them a challenge.

As you browse the auction site, you may notice that the salvage autos from auctions have a thumbnail photo of the car you can click that will take you to the listing description. In the descriptions, you will find a lot more information about the vehicle. [Read more…] about How to Inspect a Car Before You Buy it

300,000 tons in carbon emissions ‘could be saved by autonomous oil and gas operations’

November 14, 2022 by Mark Allinson

ABB has published another of its Energy Transition Equation reports that shows how industrial customers can reduce carbon emissions and manage the energy transition for a more sustainable future.

Based on nine months of research and modelling, the report highlights how early adoption and integration of automation, digitalization, and electrification technologies to enable autonomous operations can deliver savings of over 300,000 tons of carbon emissions per annum for offshore sites (approximately 25 percent reduction).

This is the equivalent of removing 150,000 combustion cars from the road and is the same volume of CO2 responsible for five million tons of glacier mass lost each year. [Read more…] about 300,000 tons in carbon emissions ‘could be saved by autonomous oil and gas operations’

Global semiconductor equipment sales grow 5 percent to $25 billion

July 25, 2022 by David Edwards

Global semiconductor equipment billings grew 5 percent year-over-year to $24.7 billion in the first quarter of 2022, according industry association SEMI.

The figures were revealed in SEMI’s Worldwide Semiconductor Equipment Market Statistics Report. Quarter-over-quarter billings in the seasonally soft first quarter declined 10 percent.

Ajit Manocha, SEMI president and CEO, says: “Year-over-year first quarter equipment revenue growth is in sync with positive forecasts for 2022 as the semiconductor industry continues its robust increase of fab capacity. North America and Europe logged healthy quarter-over-quarter rises in equipment spending as they intensify efforts to bolster domestic chipmaking.” [Read more…] about Global semiconductor equipment sales grow 5 percent to $25 billion
