Picnic Works and Roboworx team up for national rollout of autonomous pizza stations

Seattle-based Picnic Works, a developer of food production automation, and robot management company Roboworx have formed a strategic collaboration to facilitate the national rollout of Picnic’s fleet of autonomous Picnic Pizza Stations.

This partnership aims to enhance the efficiency and consistency of pizza production across numerous restaurant locations.

Founded in 2016, Picnic has been at the forefront of integrating technology with food service. The Picnic Pizza Station is designed to seamlessly fit into existing commercial kitchens, assembling 130+ pizzas per hour, depending on size, with precision and efficiency. Serve Robotics partners with Piestro to deliver robot-made pizzas

Piestro, a maker of a robotic pizzeria, is partnering with Serve Robotics, a maker of autonomous sidewalk delivery robots, to offer customers a totally robotic pizza delivery service.

When a customer places an order, Piestro’s scheduling system will notify Serve’s fleet and the nearest available robot will pick up the pizza for transport from a Piestro pod.

Automated pizza machine maker Piestro receives $580 million in pre-orders and finds new customer

Piestro says it has received $580 million in pre-orders for its automated pizza making machine. The company has also found a new partner, Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop.

Piestro says its robotic pizzeria produces “high-quality artisanal pizza within just a few minutes”.

Capriotti, a fast-casual sandwich franchise, will begin a piloted test of the Piestro Pod in Capriotti’s flagship Las Vegas location. Capriotti’s also intends to purchase up to 100 Piestro Pods within five years of such units being made available to the restaurant following the pilot. Pizza-vending brand Basil Street has agreed a partnership with leading motion control company, Arcus Servo Motion.

The startup says the partnership is in response to expanded client demand for automated food systems and is aligned with its nationwide rollout slated for Fall 2021.

Elementary Robotics unveils ‘industry’s first’ cloud-based AI camera system

Elementary Robotics, a rapidly-growing AI vision startup, has unveiled what it claims is the first AI camera system for cloud-based inspection.

Piestro, a start-up automating artisan pizza creation, is partnering with Kiwibot, the robotics company providing “affordable and accessible” delivery services, to offer consumers a touchless, contactless pizza delivery experience.

The partnership follows a successful campaign to raise finance on crowdfunding platform StartEngine, where Piestro had an oversubscription of investor interest.

Nuro and Domino’s partner on autonomous pizza delivery

Nuro, a developer of driverless road-going vehicles, is partnering with fast-food chain Domino’s to deliver pizzas to customers at their homes.

A statement on Nuro’s blog says: “We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve partnered with Domino’s, the world’s largest pizza company, to deliver pizza autonomously.”
