FireFly Automatix launches ‘first’ commercially available autonomous electric mower

FireFly Automatix has showcased its M100-AV mower at the recent Turfgrass Producers International convention at DeBuck’s New Lawn Sod Farm, Belleville, Michigan.

This commercial reel mower cuts a 100-inch width, adding to FireFly’s line of autonomous mowers. The M100-AV is FireFly’s first all-electric vehicle (EV), promising energy savings and environmental benefits.

Scott DeBuck, owner of this summer’s TPI’s host farm, says: “I am highly impressed by the innovative FireFly reel automatic mower. Its cutting performance produces truly beautiful results, and the capability to program various mowing angles is truly astonishing. Rocsys raises €33 million for its robotic electric vehicle charging system

Rocsys, a provider of autonomous charging solutions for electric transportation, has closed a €33 million Series A funding round.

Led by SEB Greentech Venture Capital, the round also includes participation from Graduate Entrepreneur, the European Investment Bank, and returning investor Forward.One.

With this latest investment, which includes a roughly equal split of debt and equity financing, Rocsys will expand the capabilities of its platform as it rapidly scales its presence in the United States and Europe. In the future, buying cars will ‘feel more like buying a laptop computer’

Computer chips have been part of cars for a long time, but no one really cares about them until they stop working or they are late to the production line, grinding manufacturing to an industry-shaking halt.

However, the research within IDTechEx’s “Semiconductors for Autonomous and Electric Vehicles 2023-2033” report shows that trends within the automotive industry mean consumers will soon be caring far more about what chips are in their cars.

Einride goes live in Norway to lead electric deployment of freight mobility

Einride, a freight mobility company that provides digital, electric and autonomous technology, has launched its solutions in Norway, the country with the highest number of electric vehicles per person.

The announcement comes at a time when Norway has enacted new sustainability targets that are more ambitious than those laid out by the European Commission, striving for all new heavy vehicles in Norway to be zero-emission by 2040.

Despite being at the forefront of the electric revolution, with the world’s highest per capita number of EVs, heavy-duty vehicles in Norway still contribute to nearly 9 per cent of the country’s CO2 emissions, equivalent to 4.4 million tonnes of CO2. Einride and UAE to introduce Middle East’s largest autonomous and electric fleet

Einride, a freight mobility company that provides digital, electric and autonomous technology, is launching a collaboration with the UAE Government to “fast track the region to sustainable shipping”.

The signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will look to deploy Einride’s ecosystem, including electric and autonomous vehicles, charging infrastructure and transforming technology that unlocks digital, electric and autonomous solutions at scale throughout the Falcon Rise grid.

Comau developing fully automated system for battery recycling

Comau has renewed its commitment to the EU’s Flexible Battery Dismantling (Flex-BD) project for the second year, to help deliver a fundamental pillar on the path towards a truly circular economy.

Flex-BD is a robotized system that automates the entire process of dismantling worn-out electric batteries using a highly flexible, repeatable and standardizable process.
