Serve Robotics expanded delivery service in Los Angeles

Serve Robotics, an autonomous delivery robotics company, has expanded its delivery operations into Koreatown as part of a long-term plan to broaden its geographic reach in Los Angeles and across the US.

Additionally, in preparation for the scale up of its fleet for future expansions, Serve announced the expansion of its lidar supply agreement with Ouster to equip its next-generation robots with upgraded sensors for enhanced performance.

Kiwibot acquires Auto Mobility Solutions

Kiwibot, a start-up known for its AI-powered autonomous delivery robots on US college campuses, is to acquire Auto Mobility Solutions (AMS) a Taipei-based IC Chip developer for AI mobile self-driving core technology and robot cybersecurity.

This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in both companies’ journeys towards innovation and safeguarding privacy in the robotics industry, particularly for intelligent robots sourced from China and deployed in the Western markets.

Bringing AMS under its wing, Kiwibot gains a team renowned for its technological prowess and will have the right to use over 100 licensed patents in robotics.

Arm and Nuro partner to develop autonomous vehicles at commercial scale

Uber Eats, Cartken and Mitsubishi Electric partner to bring autonomous robot deliveries to Japan

Uber Eats Japan, Mitsubishi Electric and Cartken have formed a partnership to provide food deliveries using autonomous sidewalk robots in Japan.

Robot deliveries facilitated by the Uber Eats app are scheduled to begin in a select part of Tokyo by the end of March 2024.

Robotic delivery company Starship Technologies raises $90 million in new funding

Starship Technologies, the company making science fiction a reality by putting delivery robots on streets in the US and Europe, has raised $90 million in new funding, co-led by Plural and Iconical.

The fresh investment, which brings the total raised by Starship to $230 million since its creation in 2014, will be used to expand globally as Starship looks to take advantage of the unstoppable rise in demand for home deliveries.

Google-owned Wing wins FAA authorization for drone deliveries

With a new year on the horizon, demand for drone delivery has never been higher. Three in four shoppers are interested in saving time this holiday season with Wing’s fast-mile delivery, and major retailers like Walmart are integrating the company’s technology to serve their current and future needs.

In this context, drone delivery startup Wing – which is fully owned by Google parent Alphabet – says it has achieved “another milestone” in its ability to meet that growing demand.
