Automate 2025: North America’s biggest industrial automation event

Automate 2025 – which starts Monday – is North America’s largest robotics and automation event, a key meeting point for professionals in this rapidly evolving field.

Since its beginnings in 1976 as the first “Robots Show”, it has grown and adapted, becoming Automate in 2011 after merging with other industry events. Recognizing the increasing importance of automation, Automate became an annual standalone event in 2022.

The goal of Automate 2025 is to showcase the latest advancements across various industries. ABB to unveil future technologies at Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening conference

ABB Robotics will return for a second year to the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) 2025 International Conference & Exhibition, January 25-29 at the San Diego Convention Center (Booth #2541).

Highlights of ABB’s participation include two live robotic automation demos and a roundtable discussion with industry leaders, including Mettler Toledo and Agilent Technologies, to explore the challenges laboratories face and how robotics can help, on January 28.

Jose-Manuel Collados, manager for product line service robotics at ABB Robotics, says: “The need for increased efficiency, enhanced precision, reduced human error, and the ability to handle high-throughput workflows is prompting more organizations to consider automated laboratory solutions, with demand estimated to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 6.9 percent by 2029. Universal Robots to host ‘largest collaborative robot conference and trade show’ in North America

Abu Dhabi hosts ‘record numbers’ of delegates and visitors for IROS robotics conference

The 36th edition of the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2024) successfully concluded in Abu Dhabi today, October 18th, 2024, with a “record number of nearly 10,000, visitors, delegates and participants in attendance”.

The success of what is arguably the world’s most prestigious robotics exhibition has “emphatically raised the profile of Abu Dhabi as a global destination for robotics and artificial intelligence, as well as for advanced technology innovation”, say the organizers. 

Researchers, academics, scientists and regulatory stakeholders inspired guests and visitors with their impactful plenary talks, keynote sessions, and individual poster and oral presentations at IROS 2024 that opened on 14 October at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC).

Robots roll into Memphis for the AMR & Logistics Conference

One of the fastest growing segments in robotics is getting top billing at this year’s Autonomous Mobile Robots & Logistics Conference, which is due to take place from October 8-10 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Organized by the Association for Advancing Automation (A3) and sponsored by FedEx, the conference highlights the latest innovations with exhibits, in-person demos, and conference sessions that offer insights and best practices to help users from any industry get the most out of the flexible, cost-effective and scalable tools.

The AMR market is projected to reach more than 2.7 million units globally by 2027, according to research firm Interact Analysis, as more companies in myriad industries such as manufacturing, third-party logistics and healthcare look to automate material handling tasks. MassRobotics reveals its 2024 awards winners

MassRobotics, a robotics innovation organization, has revealed its 2024 Robotics Medal and Rising Star recipients at the IEEE ICRA@40 conference in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The Robotics Medal is the world’s first major prize to recognize the wide-ranging impact of female researchers focusing on the development of robotics around the globe.

The Robotics Medal is awarded to a woman-identifying, researcher-nominated professor in robotics to recognize their impactful contributions to the field and includes a $50,000 prize awarded to the individual.

Association for Advancing Automation to hold event for humanoid robots

The latest technology and application advances for humanoid robots will be the focus of the Humanoid Robot Forum hosted by the Association for Advancing Automation (A3) on Monday, October 7, at the Renasant Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

The new educational conference will be held in conjunction with A3’s successful Autonomous Mobile Robots & Logistics Conference, sponsored by FedEx, on October 8-10, also at the Renasant Convention Center.

Florida Automated Vehicles summit to be held in Orlando for first time

From November 29th through December 1st, 2021, the Central Florida Expressway (CFX) will host the 9th Annual Florida Automated Vehicles (FAV) Summit in Orlando, Florida.

In recent years, this event has been a sellout. The 2021 FAV Summit will focus on ACES mobility. ACES is an acronym for the four rising stars of mobility – Automated, Connected, Electric and Shared.

CFX is this year’s host agency. The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA), TEAMFL, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority, and the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) have worked throughout the year to bring this summit to Orlando. RoboCup Federation and UBTech Robotics team up to improve robots’ football skills

The RoboCup Federation, famous for organising football matches between teams of tiny Nao humanoid robots, and UBTech Robotics have formed a strategic partnership.

The two companies say they are aiming to achieve “the highest-quality artificial intelligence and robotic research and education as well as respective worldwide visibility”.

Siasun Robotics agrees ‘strategic co-operation’ with Dassault Systèmes

Siasun Robotics has agreed a “strategic co-operation” with Dassault Systèmes, one of the largest software companies in Europe and the maker of popular engineering design applications such as Solidworks.

On November 23, the 2020 China Robot Industry Development Conference was successfully held in Qingdao High-tech Zone.
